I suppose we can add the OP Sharks to the list of top teams??
Spartan, I completly agree with you as far as Cooperstown. Most of the better teams will not be going to Cooperstown. The best teams from CA are all going to the Elites. There will be 90 teams at Cooperstown and I would say 5-7 will have a Legit chance of winning. Maybe a couple of sleepers in the bunch. Most teams will not be very good. I talked to a couple of Dads that went last year during 10 week and they told me the same thing. Not very good compitition until quaters or Semi finals.
Anybody else going let me know we can all meet up in cooperstown. |

I just know some of the teams who made it pretty deep last season weren't that great in regular play here in and around Ga. Mine plays 11U, and we are all-in with Disney this season. I have high hopes our team makes it but mine will be going one way or the other. Our first time down there I saw what this tournament is all about, and while many dads/coaches don't think winning a national championship means anything I certainly do. Not necessarily for any kind of bragging rights only to win the most stacked tourney in the United States year to year. |

My son won a national championship last year and it was televised nationally on Fox Sports. What a great experience for him. He still talks about how great of a time he had. He doesn't talk about winning just all the fun he had with me on the trip. The Elites are on our schedule this year also with a chance to go to Tenn. and NYBC. might go Super Series in Texas if we don't win the Elites.
We have been preparing by playing up in 11's most of the year and haven't lost yet in 11's. We have scrimmaged one of the better 11U teams in the nation the So Cal Outlaws Black here in Calif. They are legit and should be a factor at the Elites. Win or Lost it should be a great spring and summer of baseball

Boy Shawn, you left off the most important one
I'd add the Greenville Pirates to that mix, as well as the Orlando Tigers to that list |

I know a lot of good teams won't make the trip, and because of that there are players from those teams that are available out there - I don't have any problem with any team picking up players, because EVERY team can do it - some chose to and some don't; you can't hold it against the ones that do.
Now, I do have a problem with the lax policy of CDP with regards to the pitchers, and leaving it up to "coaches discretion". I've heard horror stories of teams throwing "rental" kids back to back games, without having a care in the world, saving their own players.

Just got back from the AZ SNIT. The Umpire in the Championship made a mockery of the game. I have never seen an Ump Deliberately and Intentionally do what He did to a bunch of 10 year olds. In a nut shell the ump got mad at the Calif. crowd that had gathered (100+) for the Championship and the last 3 innings he kept stiking out the Nomads Elite hitters on balls in the Dirt,Over thier heads, 18 inches outside and that wasn't the worst part. The last inning he called every pitch a BALL, Multiple times the Nomads Catcher didn't even move his glove right down the middle of the plate and this Umpire walked ALL the batters that scored in the last inning. There were so many BAD Calls to list. The Interference call with the Nomads rallying was probably the worst. A Nomad batting ball gets away from the Catcher, He tries to throw to third and has to throw Over the batter in the box, Makes a bad throw and the ump calls Interference?? FYI there was No contact by the catcher and the batter. The Umpire made a Mockery of the game of baseball. A few of the parents on the Sandlot team were Emberessed by what had happened.
Pete I forgot about them. My list was not in a particular order.
Congrats to the EC Longhorns on their Win and Bid. I was following online. |

Nothing worse than an umpire trying to upstage a game. Hate to hear about a game taken out of the hands of players and coaches. We had it happen to us at the SC SNIT a few years back, so I feel your pain |

Cali,
That stinks....Game should be won on field with the 9-11 players that play. The best umpire is one that is not noticed and has nothing to do with the outcome.
We had a few BAD umps and calls in SNIT but were able to have a few coaches thrown out to appease the umps.
See you guys down the road.... |

Enough with the Negative tone on the AZ SNIT tournament...We got our BID to the Elites and were coming for you Southern Bells...LOL It will be nice to put a face to the names.
FYI, Sanlot Allstars look like a 8-9U team very very small..But they are LEGIT. They do everything right and don't beat themselfs. Don't let their size fool you. They don't have that Shutdown type pitcher. The best way to describe them is Scrappy. They Mercied Oakley Stingrays 10-0 in the semi's |

The team is just going to the Elites, My son is playing in Cooperstown 10 week, Triple Crown World Series in Utah and possibly Super Series Nationals.
We are talking about possibly traveling to GA. next year as 11's to the East Cobb Invitational. Then to The Battle of the South and possibly a few more Top tourney's. We have tried not to travel with the boy's a lot until now. One of the Dads at East Cobb has my number now. We have a mutual friend with the Tormatero's.
You going to the Elites? or AAU? or?? We looked at a lot of options to Qualify for NYBC. Just like everybody else. The only problem is We must Travel 3000 miles to all the qualifying tournaments. |

The team has not made plans to do anything else. As for my son well that is a different story. Cooperstown with SD Stars,Triple Crown World Series with IE Elite and possibly Super Series in Texas.
We just spent 2 straight weeks in AZ. and my son had a great experience. Well except the debacle during the SNIT last weekend.
I know we have talked about possibly going to the East Cobb Inv. and Battle of the South next year as 11's. Our Coach Wes Etheridge has showcased his teams there in the past. The idea is to do it early and continue until High School. It has worked for him in the past. Just look at last years draft and this years upcoming draft. He coached Bryce Harper and helped put him on the map. His team was called the So Cal Redwings. This years Draft he has Henery Owens,Chrstian Lopes,Daniel Camarena and Tyrone Wiggins. You will hear most of their names called in the First round of the 2011 MLB draft. In 2-3 years his next group will come through. Tyler Alamo,Nate Rodriguez,Isreal Fuentes and Timmy Lopes.
The best part of traveling with our team is we get everybody's best. Example of that is this past weekend. Every team we faced threw their Ace. I really want my boy to experience East Cobb. |

People used to say this about the Bandits too. Now we've added some kids with size. I think it's gone to Troy's head too. He hardly ever calls for the kids to bunt anymore. |
