Nice to see if a team is a little rusty the first tournament of the year they are not that good. But some teams only play aa/aaa teams all year and lose too the only 2 major teams they play and are still one of the best teams in the state. Please tell me how that works.
In my opinion, you're not one of the best teams in the state if you are primarily playing AA/AAA teams all year. You have to consistently compete/win against the major teams to be considered a top team.
There really is no way to say who is the best team this early in the season. Most people are basing it on what they saw last year. If you look at other age groups, 12U comes to mind, there is a dominant team that no one can dispute. 10U is going to be exciting this year because there is no one absolutely dominant team. Also, there are a couple good teams that aren't getting talked about yet.
I agree with the discussion. I just don't put much weight behind what others think when it comes to who is better than others at the age of ten. That's just my opinion.
The rankings are based on the long haul. If I'm not mistaken, everybody has already lost. Most teams didn't play in the fall and you'll see some cobwebs. The depth of the team is what impresses most, not the single game won or lost here and there.
