The JCS Jackhammers will be collecting food, clothing, and monetary donations during the entire tournament this weekend for the City of Ringgold, and for members of the Ringgold Baseball Factory and HS Team. One HS player's family lost their home and everything they own. The HS coach said their baseball field and field house were completely destroyed. Anyone wanting to doante can bring items to donation locations at the concession stand.

I was told that a few of their main pitchers were out due to injuries.

Yes, we have had our fair share of injuries in the last 3 weeks but no excuses here. Credit should go to the teams that outplayed us this weekend.

Great championship game with the Cherokee Reds vs ECB Yankees. Reds came from behind and scored 5 runs in the top of the 6th inning to go ahead 9-7 over the Yankees. Reds had them to 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th inning, and the Yankees bats produced 2 back to back Home Runs (cleared the fence by 20 feet) to take the championship. Great way to end the game. Both teams played great and battled back throughout the whole game.

Congrats! Heard a kid from the Mudcats hit a pretty deep homerun in that tournament as well.

Raiders,

Mudcats hit the ball hard the entire tournament (a few banging off the outfield walls).

You can debate whether the Yankees are as strong this year as last year, but one constant thing is those guys just know how to win close ballgames. They never get rattled and they just keep coming at you every inning. I would be willing to bet their record in 1-run games over the past 2 years is something like 14-2.

In any case, congrats to the Yankees. Sounded like a great championship game. Also, kudos to the Reds for playing some excellent ball this weekend.

Thank you to the JCS Jackhammer team for helping the Ringgold community by collecting donations for the victims of the tornados. It is a very difficult time for us as well as other communities that were hit hard. It will take a long time to rebuild, but we are up to the challenge. The baseball community has been amazing. We played in an 11U year old tournament in Ringgold at the Jack Maddox complex right after this happened and the TD said that he could not believe how many donations were brought from the Orgeon Park Sharks teams. Thanks again!

Looking forward to a great weekend of baseball!
