Does anyone know what the exact rules are for the bats for this coming year? If we are playing in a USSSA or Triple Crown tourney do we HAVE to use a BBCOR rated bat? But if we play in a small tourney or not a USSSA or Triple Crown we don't? I don't know what bat to buy my son for the upcoming season and some of the BBCOR rated bats are very costly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Read the thread linked below, it covers Triple Crown. USSSA requires BBCOR OR if it's a big barrel with greater than drop 3, their NEW USSSA stamp on the bat. Also note that BBCOR is only drop 3 (that's part of the requirement for adhering to the BBCOR standard), so unless your rising 12u player is already swinging a drop 3, you'll need to look for bats with the new USSSA stamp.
