The coaches that I've seen that teach the game and get a lot out of their players while balancing winning with having fun at 11U are -
Brent Tucker - Ringgold Ron Landy - GA Hurricanes Danny Pralgo - 643 Danny Bowman - WF Scott Renner - Alpharetta |

That's a tough one because to truly know a good coach I think you'd have to spend considerable time watching their practices and progress over the year(s). You'd have to see how they interact with the kids in various situations. |

I read the boards and rarely post but my money would be on David Ellis of the Cobb Angels. The Angels are a 3 yr team. Coach Ellis is loyal to his players and not one family left after an up and down season at 10u. His loyalty and teaching (about baseball and life) have paid off in a pretty successful 11u season to date. The best compliment I can give Coach Ellis is my board name. I formed a fall team of 8us to get my youngest son ready to play for him in the fall of 2013. |

Tough to watch practices of other teams. Here are the 3 things I based my answer on. 1. Are the kids prepaired and having fun? 2. What is the coaches demeanor during and after the game (how does he interact with his players, other coaches and parents) 3. Listening to the coaches talk between themselves while their team is in the field, especially right after an error is made - you'll find out a lot! |

I think the names out there are good ones. The guys at JCS are doing good things as well. A question that is tough to answer is what each team’s goals are. Some have pitching staffs that are quoted to be the best since the early ninety Braves, I assume the focus is win above all else. Some are developing talent and many in between. We are blessed with quality teams and coaches in the area, but like who Baseballnutz speaks of. |

I could add a dozen or so names to that list. Nutz listed some outstanding coaches. It depends on a ton of factors and trying to list the best results in leaving off some great folks by accident. The best at 11U? The coach YOUR kid loves to play for. |

I know some of the coaches previously mentioned and wouldn't argue that they are good coaches, but there are SOOOOO many more that putting names on here would be doing many an injustice. I admire the coaches that know the game, can communicate it to 11 year olds, and make them smile while teaching. we often forget that many have to mow/drag the fields, install the bases, and pick-up half the team before practice begins. But these are the guys that wouldn't trade it for anything. Like 4bagger said, these are the guys that make your kid want to come to the ballpark for PRACTICE (they all want to play the games). |
