OTC
Elite Gamers Red
RBI
First Strike Force
Georgia Blues

Five teams in so far for this one. Barring no other entries who wins and how do you rank them?

OTC and RBI for the top or do the other teams prove that to be incorrect? Elite has some good pitching but not deep in it as always seems to be the case but if they can come out of the gates with fire in their eyes and the Georgia Blues have always been a proverbial thorn in other team's heels when battling down to the wire. Those guys are scrappy for lack of better terms.

Not to sure about First Strike Force personally though. Not dismissing them but just don't know anything about them.
I generally don't give predictions but will go on a limb here for the first time.

RBI
OTC
Georgia Blues
Elite Gamers Red
First Strike Force

All boils down to who manages their rosters most effectively for the third through fifth slot. I'm sticking with my top two unless other teams join in.

Not many teams in this one, but I think the clear favorite is RBI and would agree with ATKids that OTC would be in the finals with them. Would have liked to see both of these teams in the AL SNIT.

I'm in agreement with you on them being in the AL SNIT.
Love to have seen that for sure.

Just checked to see if any other teams had entered the Clash of the Champions in 11u and noticed that the link stated that 156 teams participated in 2011 in all age groups. Only seeing lsightly over a third of that number so far this year unless I missed something. They still have a couple of days to jump in and get in on the action though.

On another subject HeadFirst are you still with the OTC crew? If so what are your thoughts on the tournament?

A sixth team is in the tournament now. 11AAA Georgia Red Sox. Doesn't change the outcome of the finals in my opinion though. RBI over OTC but you never know whose day it will be when it all comes down to it. It will be interesting to see how the brackets are set up for this one. Will RBI and OTC, two of the favorites be in the same pool bracket or not? If it were me I'd set it up with RBI, Red and Red Sox in one pool and OTC, Ga. Blues, and First Strike Force in the other pool. It's not me though so let's wait and see.

Schedule Out. Still got RBI and OTC in Finals with RBI winning. Preety descent tournament. 5 majors and 1 AAA. I just have a question though. How do the tornamnet directors actually pick the pools?

Because sometimes the pools are all jacked up.

Wow I got one right out of a thousand. If OTC is hitting they won't have to go deep into their pitching which they need to get actually get deeper in to continue to compete next year. IMHO they can hold back a bit in game one but if they're not hitting well you know how that goes. All the wheels can fall off then right? I think they'll have to use some pitching though to get past the Ga. Blues. Will they get past them? I don't know. The Blues haven't played in to many tournaments to date in any organization but they're well coached and I heard they won a grand slam last week.

OTC still has a few very talented hard workers on their team that, when hitting they'll spray that ball everywhere on the field and deep too on more than one occasion if you let them. In the early games I believe the Red and Red Sox both had better come out guns blazing and not let down their guards regardless of rankings. I think they'd better throw everything and even the kitchen sink at each other to hope for the best outcome they can get before facing RBI. Not a knock on either of the other teams because even the best ball team in the world can flip just like our wonderful economy has done over the past few years. But on an even playing field and each team playing their absolute best through and through RBI I believe comes out on top in that pool.

Only time will tell. What do you think?

Looks to me like the TD sets the pools based on USSSA points. OTC clearly is the top team based on USSSA points- Elite Gamers Red is the next top point holder and then RBI. So OTC avoids both aforementioned teams in pool play meaning RBI and the EGR have to face off in pool play. The beauty of this tournament is runs allowed, run scored and run differential really wont matter as long as you win both pool games in terms of getting that 1 or 2 seed (and the bye).

The pools are supposed to be done using a snake. They are done correctly in this tournament! You start with how many pools you have, in this case 6 teams (two pools of 3). Pool A gets 1,4,5 based on USSSA points, Pool B gets 2,3,6.

Should be a good tournament. I like everyones picks, but OTC has not been playing up to potential lately. We are still making errors and our hitting has been either hot or cold. Hopefully the boys show up and play well.

Good luck to everyone!

Seeds are determined by USSSA points based on classification (Majors, AAA, etc.). With 2 pools (A & B), team with highest points placed in A. Next highest in B. Then alternates with 3rd in B, 4th in A, 5th in A, 6th in B.
A - 1 4 5
B - 2 3 6

Will be the same for larger tournaments with more pools.

LongGoneSoon, pun intended, but runs scored and runs allowed do come into play if a team indeed hopes to win both pool games. I know what you're saying though and just kidding. Need a nap while at work. The boss is away so I'm tilting my chair back and nodding off in a second. The funny thing is that seriously if the bats are hot and the defense is what it is capable of being anyone of the Major teams in this have a chance to win it. Excluding the AAA team. I know what all these teams are made of pretty much and it all depends on how their lead on the field and how fired up their coaches can get them for and throughout the game. Coach it like you want it and play it like you want it for Ty Cobb's sake. If not you're wasting your time.

Congrats to RBI on a hard fought tournament beating the Elite Gamers Red 11-2 in the championship game. They got there hitting back scoring 26 runs in 3 games on Saturday and only giving up 3. On Saturday they just scored 6 runs and the 2 runs they scored against elite gamers red in pool play were on wild pitches. RBI is a great contender if they hit the ball, but if they do not hit the ball they have a tougher time winning.

Yes, congrats to RBI and saw some of their last couple games Sunday while we were there playing. Seemed to play very well.

To IGGG....wouldn't everyone have a tougher time winning if they don't "hit the ball" so would apply to all and not just one team? Seems like RBI's true strength is their pitching which is not true for most teams, but they have several very good hitters as well. Anyway...congrats.

I was off on my overall prediction but not on the winner. Congrats to RBI. Not only hitting on Sunday as compared to Saturday as noted but what others don't realize is that a lot of the top teams make position changes etc. on pool day and then load for bear on Sundays.

I have noticed that the top teams seem to do this moreso than others do but to each their own in that regard. Here recently I've seen teams break the bank, pitching their aces all day on Saturday only to get to Sunday and not have any pitching left. That amazes me but if you want to play on Sunday sometimes you have to pull all stops to get there.

We still have some great baseball left all around and it should be interesting as everyone battles down to the wire as they approach their respective W.S.
