Tough day. only one to not have to have met any tough competition so far is NYO. They still haven't had to face anyone in bracket. Braves had had to take on both hobgood and rba titans. rays are taking on longhorns. Too bad it couldn't all be level coming down to the end. |

Triplecrown did it right this time. No individual gate fees. Thank you. This is the way to do it. Just charge the tournament fee and then an "uplift" for the gates. |

Not sure how things work out of NYO, so may be someone could clarify. I don't think they are a true "rec all-star" team and I am not sure if anyone from that organization has made this claim. However, there are kids on that Titans team whom are or were on "travel" team rosters as late as this season. Sure they are a talented bunch and it is good to see them in the mix. Good luck to all teams today! |

mbdale- that was pool play. They have still met only one tough opponent but by the time they meet their next tough one the other team will have had to play several tough ones just to be at the same place. |

You read that one right! Sent home by Longhorns. They made a good run though.

The NYO Titans are no doubt the team to beat. Take your travel ball dollars and long season of drama and leave them at the door. NYO has none of these issues to worry about. They are legit and rested. NYO wins in the ship against who cares............ I'm out!
negative, no tournament experience, they wont make it to the "ship" to play whoever. mark it down

What kind of NONSENSE is that? This was a DOUBLE elimination tourney and the Rays never lost one game till the ship. Which means the Longhorns needed to play them a second game to win the tournament. What a JOKE triple crown! On your site you even have a time slot for a 9pm game in case that happened. I guess everyone else gets to lose one time but the Rays? Don't have DOUBLE elimination tourneys then change your mind in the ship....... |

Ridiculous, come on TC, you're better than this, Rays run through winners bracket unscathed , EVERYBODY else got a 2nd chance except the Rays! Not a way to run a State Championship. Guess the Horns have an * by their championship . |

Wow!!!! I heard the Longhorns put up a offensive show.....home run after home run. They put a 10 spot of the Braves in one inning? Is that right? |

Congrats to Longhorns! Tough break for Rays! Awesome matchups this weekend! Tough loss for RBA one of there big hitter out for the rest of the season, broke his wrist in the game against the braves. Wish him well! All teams played well, but I HATE the short fences because whats a can of corn on field 4 and 6 at ecb are homeruns on 200 or 225. ft fence. 250 275 there would be a different outcome for a lot of teams. |

I have to agree with you there Gwinnett but we were all told the format was changed before we even played the 1st game on Sunday so it shouldn't have been a surprise to most.
Not a bad run for a team for some said was done a few weeks ago, extremely proud of my boys. We played all weekend with just 10 players, tough to play 9 games that way. Only wish our former coach stayed to watch how it's done... |

Thought I was missing something when I looked at championship bracket results this morning. Why was there not a 9pm game? Did both teams know in advance that the 7pm game was the last one or agreed to the change in format?quote: Originally posted by Gwinnett

Hi All - GREAT weekend for baseball. Weather was ideal, and some awesome games.
Tony did let folks know Sat night & Sunday morning about format change. I talked with him Sat night, and his concern was about the kids playing a ton o games - especially after 2 kids got carted off the field on Saturday.
Hope the BIG boy from Shiloh heals quickly, and all the best to the kid from Columbia County - medics thought he tore his ACL.
Great run by the Rays this weekend! & some fantastic games by LOTS of teams, came down to 3 teams that really played well thru the weekend. |

Ottahere14 -- I am with you on playing on these small fields in general, but I would add that most of the shot that I saw hit this weekend would have cleared 4 and 6 at ecb. So I am not going to take anything way from the kids. I think for a change after a great tournament we should focus and celabrate the preformances of some of this kids, after all they are the ones that this is all about. How about sharing some of the highlights? *Hobgood kid hitting a walk-off HR *Milton CF robbing a HR to win the game *Longhorn kid hitting a game winning HR against the RBA *RBA kid hitting 3 bombs in the game against the longhorns *Braves SS pitching a great game against RBA *The big kid from the ECB Sparatans, I think they are still looking for his shot
I am sure these are just a few of the highlights, that we could call out.

It all starts again this Friday at ECB for the USSSA State. Lots of good teams including the final three from this weekend. Looks like there are only 17 teams entered. I would think there would be more. |

You mean after the teams had already paid for a DOUBLE elimination tournament?? What a joke! Gotta love how there's always an excuse?
The Triple Crown site, even today, shows it as a double elimination championship game?

It is so said that if the team is not named the ...... or ..... everybody hates just give the Longhorns the credit they beat everybody that was put in their way. They only had 10 players and had to come out of the bottom. Tae and the Longhorns great job, let the cry baby's cry. I look foward to seeing you do the same thing this weekend at USSSA state. Hater's keep hating |

Oneway, how can you say that the Longhorns beat EVERYBODY in their way when they had lost to the Rays on Sunday. Would have been nice to see a true championship game between the two as advertised from the beginning. What team was the kid on from Columbia County that got injured? Anyone know an update on his status? |

sounds like the only ones complaining are from the losing team, heard tc offered to let the teams play the 9pm game but it was declined by the runner up. quote: Originally posted by Gwinnett
