I know of a couple situations where the player has left the team owing some cash so in those cases the coach may not release the kid, heard one local major team had this problem and had to cut a kid.
Tell the coach to release him today or we will call him out on this forum. I am coach and would hate to lose a player, it happens...he needs to do the right thing. He don't own your kid!
I don't owe him a dime. My son was cut for choosing to go to spring football practice. I lost 1,500 + dollars in flights accommodations for cooperstown the guy just sent me a text stating if I give him back the batbag and uniform we PAID for he would release my son from the roster. What a class less act. If anything he owes me money.
P.s. the coach understood prior to us joining the team football comes first in our family.
Why would any coach cut a kid and then refused to let that kid play for another team? Seems the coach might be wrong in this case. What is the coach trying to prove by not letting a player he cut play for another team.
Sounds like the coach is heartless and would rather win a parent/coach battle then let a kid play baseball.
Seems like the only rational thing from the details I have read is to take him off the roster.
hawk12, sounds like your coach is being difficult, were there any other conditions that you needed to meet before getting released? Not sure why any coach would hold a kid hostage
