Back by Pop Demand Game updates from my sabbatical. Should be a nice tight tourney:

Orlando Reds 6 lose to Maitland Gators 12
Was tight before Gators pulled away. Great bats on both ends and exceptional coaching.

Winter Park All Stars 3 lose a close one to Gainesville Ghosts 4
Gotta love the head coaches energy from the Ghosts. Can see it filter through to the other coaches as well. Great pitching on both sides of the diamond. Solid defense by both. Lucky to witness such a good pool play matching.

Orlando Reds 1 Team TPX 17
Strong three innings by pitcher and strong hitting sealed the deal for TPX. Station to station running should have been implemented but otherwise solid performance.

Winter Park All Stars 8 Jacksonville BlueClaws 14 [/i]
Sloppy play on both sides defensively. Good for both teams. Starting claws pitcher got tired and waivered but got the job done.

Lightning go away!!!!!

West Florida YoungGuns 11 dominate Gainesville Ghosts 3
Young Guns looked dominant with pitching, hitting, baserunning and coaching. The Ghosts looked like they saw a Ghost and did not play up to their potential. They never gave up and their flawless knuckle baller we saw a few weeks back struggled. Look for a rebound by the Ghosts and the Guns to keep on shooting.

St. Pete Saints 5 almost win against Maitland Gators 7
Chances by St. Pete were not capitalized upon. Left runners in scoring positions. Maitland is looking great and far improved from the last time we watched them. Both of these teams will do damage in bracketology.

Team TPX 11 over St. Pete Saints 6

TPX kept the heat on. They seem to have overcome the issue that plagued them during and since the Battle of the South per our reporters investigative discovery. Pitching on both sides was 50/50 and TPX simply out hit the Saints. Sloppy defense on both sides and conditions could have been a factor.

West Florida Young Guns 4 come up short to Jacksonville BlueClaws 8

West Florida had the hardest draw having to match up with two great teams. They played hard but could not overcome an flame thrower who had issues with the strike zone and a pitcher that seemed to throw curves every pitch. Based on observations these two teams are the two best in the lot. The BlueClaw group showed with solid D and clutch hitting with runners on base.

Team TPX 2 edged by West Florida 3

Pitching and defensiver struggle. The bats on both sides could not get it going. Great ball game edge on coaching went to WF. Shame any team had to lose. TPX team looked tired despite the rest. West Florida seemed to find the Tang sports drink and kept on rolling deep into another tournament.

Blue Claws 12 down St. Pete Saints laws 10

Hard fought victory by the Blu Claws. Just as the other semi was a battle of defense and pitching this was just the opposite. In the end the Claws pitching depth won this one. Claws coach has been very stern on his players all tournament and they responded in kind. Mind the temper there big boy. The final is going to be a one wild ride!

Blue Claws 10 down WFYGs 10
Blue claw squad came to play. Young Guns out coached TPX who surely wore them out but could not out coach the Claws skipper. Offensive show. WFYGs looked very tired.

Overall a nice tournament with the two teams who should play playing for the ship. Young Guns came thru the harder portion of the bracket and simple ran out of gas and pitching (surprisingly). Umpires were solid and in control. A few lippy coaches and parents were held in check. Kudos to well run tourney to the TD. Things are well run in the KISS.

WTG Blue Claws. Way to continue to work and keep your eyes on the prize. You are peaking at the right time and not flaming out. There is a new group of 12u lawmen in town or should I say Sheriffs! Cooperstown here we come.

Nice job Blueclaws. Love you making Jax baseball proud. Lord knows we need a shot in the arm at multiple age groups. We all know at the younger levels that you are the model for doing it the right way. ;p
