OK, I am bored. If your son was good enough to make any team in the Atlanta area, what team would pick and why?

Since all of our son's will be playing on the big field soon. What are some of the more important traits for a team now versus over the past few years? Please don't talk down about a team. Let's keep this positive. if you don't have anything good to say about a team, don't say anything :-)

643. They have a great program. Perhaps the best in the area. We have been very pleased with our son playing there. Solid coaching without the attitude of other big name programs. Parents are also very classy. Respect for umps and other teams. No group cheering in the stands like a girls softball 9u team.

643 is great. Based on my deaslings as an ump in age group I would also go with. Alpharetta Titans great coach, Braves and Astros. Coaching for all four is top notch and fans are the best on umps. Seems as though they are all a TEAM and work as one.

643 has a good program, kids get to play different positions every inning and there isn't the emphasis on winning. Alot of it depends on what you want, it has to match up with your goals for junior.

I wanted to go as the Zipperheads so we could be first for the closing parade. Coaches did not agree :-(

In the Atlanta area? I would say Home Plate "Dyal". Awesome coaching and a great group of kids. You can tell a lot about a group from how they get better as they move through seasons. This group has done just that, improved all year. Really a great group that gets overlooked until you have to play them. Maybe one day we can be Chili Dawgs.

And most people have no idea the adversity that team has faced this year. Injuries have decimated that team about three times this year and they keep bouncing back. I give great kudos to Mike Dyal and that whole team.

I'll second that GLOVEMAN. The southside gets very little credit on here but HP Dyal has worked through the whole season with many injuries and keep geting stronger. If my son could play for any team next year it would be HP Dyal.

The coaches from the RBA Titans seem to have things in perspective - great group of men teaching boys to play the game the right way.

Aboutthekids; I am coaching the HPDyal 13U Major team and my son will be playing on that team. We are actually having trouts on the 4th to fill our vacant spots.

Thanks, that's what I'd heard. Good luck with it and I wish you, your kid and your team the best.
