gotta go with the usssa site cause those are the teams that have paid, dback site is probably just teams that have shown interest or given verbal commitment that they'd play |

Nothing like stating the obvious !! Rays probably want have a problem making it the ship ! The question is who will be their partner. Wood bat aspect could make it interesting-- There are 15 teams in the tourney now and they are probably holding out for one more before posting brackets. I wouldn't be surprised to see Carroll County , Ecobb Warriors , Ecobb Astros(11u) or Acworth in the finals. Weather looks good so it should be fun. |

ok...2 weeks ago I was kind of confused about ECB seeding for USSSA Major State and then someone cleared things up and I was good: http://www.nwgabaseball.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21577
Now I am REALLY confused...
Why aren't USSSA points being used for seeding in this tournament as they were 2 weeks ago?
Assuming you arent using the USSSA seeding rationale - with 4 pools and 4 MJ teams, why wouldn't you put 1 MJ team in each pool?
Why are the top 2 teams (based on points) in the same pool?
Finally, the ECB team that is hosting the tournament is magically in the pool with no MJ teams...and not facing very tough comp(on paper).
With only the top 2 teams from each pool advancing, it would seem this is calculated.
Conspiracy theory is back on until further notice. |

It has all changed as they lost a field at ECB for the weekend. New schedule to come. |

I can assure you that there is not a conspiracy. We lost a field that we planned to use just this morning. We had a ton of scheduling requests to work around and the schedule was NOT prepared by the host team. We only facilitated the requests and worked to get it published.
We hope this will be a fantastic tournament. Come on out and enjoy baseball the way it was meant to be played! |

Serious, I think braves fan or rays fan will have finally got one right. Rays win their first tournament! Congrats in advance. |

11u astros are in the triple crown tournament so they will not be in the ship, why was the field lost this weekend?? |

Pool play still doesnt make much sense to me...why isnt a consistent format being used at these ECB USSSA events?
I am asking because i dont know; i thought USSSA dictated the format. For example, they USSSA points to determine match ups 2 weeks ago and someone said it was due to a USSSA rule.

Wood bat tournaments seems to draw the teams closer, in the fact that teams that crush the ball, lose that aspect of the game. Getting runners on base then moving them over into scoring position will play a big part in this tournament. A team with a soild defense and can play small ball will go a long way in this tournament. |

as everyone now sees, the south comets are a decent team and 2-0 in pool. diamondbacks didn't schedule any cakewalks for themselves like a few thought

Yankee, we were never told that a specific format had to be used. We did it the old fashioned way. We basically drew names out of a hat, put them in pools and then worked around scheduling conflicts. The schedule was put together by an independent, third party so there was no home cooking, I can assure you.
As BravesFan stated, the South Comets are a good team. They will surprise a lot of people. If anyone knows me, they know I don't schedule cupcakes. If anything, I am criticized for pushing the envelope on challenging my team but we don't care about wins/wosses as much as player development. Don't get me wrong, we are an EXTREMELY competitive group but we don't trophy hunt, even in our own tournament!
Come out and watch some great baseball. Javy will be there all weekend! |

Thought the sharks would take the Dodgers. With men on first & third and no outs. Sharks were about to break it open but Dodgers brought in the lefty and shut them down. Great game. |

Looks like the rays and 11u dodgers are playing well, it was interesting to see some former east cobb boys playing for a team I'd never heard of down south although their impact wasn't enough to make it out of the 1st bracket game.
also, why is it that parents feel the need to come up to the dugout during the game to talk to their kid at this age? I can understand it at 9 but some are 13 and it's a little too much. |

Great tournament! Well run! Javy is a class act. My players enjoyed meeting him. He took time with each of the players, signed autographs ,and took pictures with them. We will definitely sign up for the next tournament He is associated with. |

We made a good run and were completely exhausted after 4 games on Sunday. We only had 9 guys available this weekend and since usssa rules applied could not add any. Other than a few technical details with the brackets the Diamondbacks put on a great tournament. It was nice to actually finish a tourney after games were rained out for most of Saturday. The Director was very accessible and did what was needed to get it in. Javier was a hit with the players even if some didn't know who he was at first. |

Congratulations to both the Moccasins and the Rays for making the championship game. They are both terrific representatives of the talent in the 12u age group! |
