Yeah, both players are long time Blue Claw players who recently moved. |

I will make a point on what I saw. It was a great final and from what I hear the closest one yet. However, as an umpire at this level for a game of this magnitude I was surprised at the lack of hustle and big league attitude that I saw in the game. But this is prepubescent as well as a few postpubescent kids playing baseball.
As I tell my younger umpire crews, my grandson when I am lucky enough to see him and while educating future umpires: It does not take any talent to hustle! And the parents and fans notice more than you realize! |

As a coach of the Titans, I will say that our boys and families had an absolute blast at DreamsPark. Lou certainly knows how to provide a great baseball experience to 104 teams every week. First class all the way, including great and friendly umpires. Was nice to be around many teams that were there to experience the baseball atmosphere, perfect fields, and team bonding, not the win at all cost behavior we are exposed to at times on the travel ball circuit. It really was fun to be around ball players who were so excited to be there from around the country.
As for the final game, DreamsPark sure knows how to make the boys feel special. There were carted from the fields to the barracks, and playing in the Stadium with all the introductions and fireworks are memories our families will cherish foreever. We hit the ball well, but as the Blue Claws did all tournament, their bats were hot. Four homeruns, including a grand slam, and they are a tough team to beat. We knew going in to the tourney the Blue Claws were one of the favorites, and they were dominant getting to the finals - well deserved champion.
The week exceeded our high expectations, and I am very proud of our Titan boys. Great times and great baseball. |

@GA Farmer, you sure do have a lot of opinions and observations to be the innocent bystander/retired umpire you proclaim. Don't try to diminish the "great final" with your jabs. Those boys played their hearts out and left it all on the field. It was a phenomenal week of baseball, and the boys from all 104 teams have memories to cherish for a lifetime.

@diamondduel------Look at your past posts. As you did mine. I am only retired from the higher ups. I run the cirucit for youth baseball. Also, I think you called out an EC coach at the Fla. Ga. Showdown with your posts in Valdosta. As for innocent bystander. I am innocent. And my grandson was on the highest placing MD team week 4 and he has the same memories. I stuck around to watch some baseball as that is what you can do when you when you have two retirement income streams. Amazing what you hear the parents say when you just sit there and watch the game on and off the field.
As for taking anything away I think I said it was a 'great' final. I just call them like I see them like I do on the field. If you do not like it then so sorry. There were a few kids in the tourney including my grandson that needed to be benched and two to four in the final. Trust me the grandson will never show attitude like that again!

Maybe the "lack of hustle" was due to the fact that both of these teams were playing their 11th game in 5 days and their 4th game on Thursday. 1st game being at 8:30 a.m. and last one finishing close to midnight. All players from each team worked their butts off to get to the championship game and deserve to be recognized for that. |

Clearly I was pulling for the Titans and sadly they came up one game short. ..
Why a couple weeks ago did us playing a bunch of games over a few days fall under scrutiny(all that is wrong with travel ball/dads living thru their sons.....etc etc etc) but when the same thing happens at Cooperstown it's ok?!?! Same with the homers(hit a bunch on 210' fields and it's "homerun derby"...) but when a team goes and plays 90% AA teams and hits 90 bombs(Team Fla) it's no big deal it's the "Cooperstown experience".....is there a double standard there???
GaFarmer, can't speak for Jacksonville but I'm pretty confident that if the Titans were playing they were trying 100%.....never seen them play half @$$ before.... |

Sorry, after reading the Cooperstown posts from the week Team Fla was there y'all did mention the insane amount of bombs.....it isn't just Team Fla....200ft fences are way too short for these kids....the only game I watched all week were two teams I had never heard of and there were 5 homers. Not one HR went over 225ft, they were all pop ups. In full agreement with all the people that have mentioned making this tourney a wood bat only!!
Congrats again Titans! |

Then CDP needs to cut down the number of games per day.
Get over it unless it was your kid that showed the tude. I call it like I see it.
Never stated it was the Titans players. They played hard and the right way.
