several teams are breaking up or have broken up but they will have several new teams for players to try out for, it's still a little early as several teams are still finishing up their year end tournaments. |

The new teams (so far) are the Express, Indians and Renegades. The Black Knights, Pride, Spartans and Warriors have not yet advertised tryouts and *may* not be returning. I suggest you keep a close eye on the 13U Team Openings or Tryouts 2013 section of this forum. Most teams are actively trying to fill out their roster as much as possible before the Aug 5/6 tryouts. Also, from past experience, the ECB "Teams" website is not usually updated until sometime in September...

this brings up a good question, should parents make a decision after the 1st couple of offers or attend all the try outs they can and then decide?? From a coaches point of view, do you offer the kids you want and then wait? Or offer those kids and then offer more if those kids wait on other teams?
so many different dynamics involved, don't want to let a good offer get pulled but don't want to accept too quick either.

I think coaches quickly offer to get to a magic number of players...maybe 9-10 firm committments, then save a slot or two for the studs who may or may not pick their team. As a coach I wanted to get to 11 as fast as possible, because I wanted to start coaching and not worry about recruiting. |

Agreed but from a parent's standpoint when a seemingly good offer comes in before the current regular season is over adn the parent says "sounds great", then others come in and they're all looking to good to be true just as the first one does, at which time the parent goes wait a minute. Let's finish this season first.
Now one or two of the offers seem less inviting and there are still two to three looking great. Finally the parent goes "what do you want to do kid? Here are the two best offers I see as your parent."
Both want a decision within just days of the current season ending and rightly so depending on which perspective you're looking at it from. You give the kid the same question and he chooses yet again the same team and now the pressure is on because from a parental standpoint you want the best for your child and you don't know what that is just a few days after the season ends.
You choose the team your kid chooses based on what he knows about the current players and coaches and that's all he knows, then the fall sets in and most are playing other sports, the teams come out with their rosters and a change in coaching etc. here or there and you and or your child go "wow", then what? LOL
With all the dynamics involved all of you know it's tougher than it seems as a coach and as a parent. All you can do is hope you (in either role) made the right decisions.

Good to hear from you coach, sounds like you are getting most of the top kids out there and the 13 team will be top notch and filled with talent.

Mr. Rynders- since you are in the know at East Cobb, please inform all of us outsiders what 13U teams there will be and who is coaching each one of them? Better coming from you, than contributing to the rumor mill. |

looks like there is a new 13U Orioles team, don't believe the seminoles are an EC team so does that make 12 teams in 13U next yr? |

no way there will be 15 teams, many won't make and will join up or combine. I think 12 is even high considering 643 is fielding 3 teams and they will have the same field time issues as east cobb. The one thing they will do is combine practices with different age groups but that does reduce reps in practice. |

Left off Titans, Black Knights, Phillies and Renegades. Thought Rays were not fielding a team. |
