I see that the North GA Blazers and Sharon Springs have combined to make a team. Looks like the team will play out of Sharon Springs and the Blazers coach will be the coach.

MY son played on the Blazers last year. Considering the talent on the Sharon Springs team and the 4-5 players from the Blazers, this will likely be the best team out of Forsyth County this year.

But then again, you have to play the game....

Lefty, I agree. Two good coaches combined two sets of good players. Makes for a winning recipe. Not a bad place to play ball if you are in that area. They should give some of the better teams (whoever they turn out to be) a run for their money.

Yep it's January. Time to stir the pot a bit....

The only ECB 12U team that I know of that is NOT still looking for player's are the Seminols. Last I heard they had 13.

ECB White Sox have been through a " Total Team Make-Over " and are shaping up nicely.

Elite Gamers Red have dropped a couple and returned one of the big boys to their line up.

Ga Academy Red has picked up 4 from the Academy A's. They finished strong last year after losing 3 impact players, They should be strong this year.

Home Plates # 2 Team is actually their #1 team and will be a sleeper in the AAA class.

Correct the Seminoles have 13....Seems like the Braves lost one from the fall and are looking for onw more. Who knows about the Astros, "Horns, etc.

I did hear the ECB Yankees disbanded, but dont know for sure.

The real question is can the teams still looking find a difference maker or are they all already on teams?????

I know 1 that left the Braves went to the Astros. I have heard that another is looking to leave (if it hasn't already happened).

Seems like pitching depth at 12u is being discussed alot. I am by no means an expert, but the general consensus is that in the second season of pitching from 50 feet, the pitchers have the advantage. Is it because they will throw more "junk" this year (in a pitchers 2nd 50 foot season), or something else. Does anyone know of ANY teams that have a ton of pitching depth?

Pitching has become a very big part at this age group. looking around the league I hear the ECB Astro's has 14 kids and 11 or 12 kids that can pitch. 3 or 4 dominate, lets see how the season goes

Look at pool B. Astros, Jags and Twelve. At least the Jags don't have to play Twelve, only the Astros. Twelve lost to the Tomateros in the finals of the elite 32 last year. They are as good as it gets. good to see Georgia teams jumping right into the fire early.

Can't understand why they loaded Pool B up like that. Stixx should walk thru Pool A.

The Home Plate team has finaly filled out their roster and have some good ball players. It will be interesting to see how they stack up with the others.

I would not be surprised if they give the Stixx a run for their money.

After watching this past weekend at Sandy Plains---I think it will be the Astros, Jags, and Road Runners that battle for every 12u tournament this year. Any one else agree or disagree?

Other than the rare upset, I think you are pretty much hitting it on the head with that assessment...

I would say that is about right. They would be considered our local tier I teams.

However, baseball is a funny game. Anything can happen on any day. Pool draws are important, etc... That being said, here are some local tier II teams that can give the tier I's a run for their money on any good day.

ECB Braves
ECB Colt 45's
Hobgood Xtreme
Mill Creek Hawks
Sharon Springs Spartans Blue
Kennesaw Xtreme
Stixx Baseball

I am sure I left off a couple more. But, for the most part, these tier I and II teams will be competitive and well coached all year.

Yeah....your not going out on much of a limb there.

The good news for the rest of us is that these 3 teams wont be in every 12u tournament. Secondly as already stated the team with the best players doesn't always win. ( The game would realy stink if that was the case )

As far as other teams that can compete....don't forget that there are some pretty good teams south of 20....
Elite Gamers Red. Good players, Good Coach and they returned a big arm this year.

Elite Gamers Blue got bumped to AAA I think but don't take them lightly very scrappy team and if they have added a pitcher or 2 they will be strong.

I would also add the Ga Academy Red team although it has been through some changes they have enough good players to compete with anyone on any given day.

We'll just have to wait and see what developes with the Home Plate teams. It's is too early to tell about the major team but they do have some pretty good talent. The AAA team will be solid.

I dont think the Astros are playing in more than 4 12u tournaments.

Playing up at 13u will help them out.

Not sure about Jags and Road Runners but would think they will play up as well.

It is not smart to jump levels like that. Going from 50' to 54' is absurd. This is a clever way to avoid the competition at the same age group. There was a team last year that I remember used this "guise" of playing up to get better and when they "came back" to their age group they were humiliated...I do not think that is a good idea and I am sure both the Jaguars and RoadRunners will be playing right at their age group all year long...

Have to agree with most of what you are saying. However, some teams may be chasing the super NIT. I believe you have to win a qualifier to enter the tourney? If that is the case, then some of these teams that want to play up will be forced to play the good 12U competition to qualify.

All I know is that there are going to be some very good 12U teams this year in every tournament.
