I look at the money I spend as an education unto itself. If you don't think your child is a college/draft prospect, there are cheaper alternatives to the academy teams that do not need to include TC/LP. And fundraising works, as well. You absolutely can pay your expenses via fundraising.

Baseball teaches failure is real. It teaches a combination of merit, optics, and politics. Hopefully, it teaches them to be wildly tenacious. These possibilities allow me to look at the money I spend in a positive light.
