What team (any age group) do you guys think has the best, or "coolest" uniforms? . My favorite has to be the Astros throwback uniforms.

I may be a little biased...but Diamond Bears Baseball 12AAA ....every tourney - win or lose we hear coaches, parents, and players say you guys have the nicest uniforms..... Even Tony from triple crown said when we entered his April tourney this coming spring "you're the team with those cool uniforms, we would love to have you in one of our events!

Agree with you Chief... Some teams are a little over the top with multiple jerseys, different lids, more than one color pants, vests, etc. That adds a lot of cost that could be avoided.

I saw a team in 12yo, not sure of class, that had snake skin pattern. I want to say they were the copperheads or something. They were pretty cool uni's.

I'm not really feeling the camo stuff either...to many years in the US Army I guess

Throw back Astros are cool, I agree.

I saw a Mayhem Team early last spring in the $100 tourny in Jonesboro, think they were 12u, where all the lettering looked like it was in "Chaos". Or maybe the team was called "Chaos". Nonetheless, their unis, white with black & limeish green accents looked real fun.

The 6u & 7u Yarddog-Red out of Sandtown back in the day (hahahha) had about 6 different unis. They had one with a vest that was so hot the kids suffered from dehydration on several occasions...but they sure looked good!

Personally, yes it's nice to have good looking uniforms but I am there to watch some great baseball not be at a fashion show. The team with the best lookin uniforms don't win games because of that they win because of the talent and the coaching!!!!!!

The throw back astro's were the worst unis in the history of baseball (well, the old pirate top hat looking thing when the handlebar mustache was in style and the padres also come to mind.)....that's why they changed it. I prefer the simple uniforms like the yankees or tigers but I'm more of a traditionalist. Teams should not be allowed to wear purple after the age of 8. All the camo and snakeskin pattern stuff has gotten old pretty quickly too.

No Vests for me!
I would encourage teams to spend the $ on cold weather pullovers or long sleeve undershirts instead of vests for players.
These provide early season warmth for the ARMS! I am partial to the traditional white pants and navy jersey look!
Nice uniforms are a must but teams can look look sharp and be FUNCTIONAL on a budget! Let's face it fundraising is tough these days!

Less options for coaches and parents can be a good thing! Moms trying to figure out what uniform pants, jersey, etc...
How many times does a kid show up with a wrong hat? lol

Helpful hint on mixing uniform pieces if you a ton: when in doubt (even always), have a bag handy where you keep every piece of uniform/cap/socks/belts/jerseys/pants/under armour/etc. After you wash things, put them in the bag. After your son dresses for the game in what he thinks he's supposed to where, put the bag in your vehicle. Drive to game/tournament. Get there 15 minutes before you are supposed to be there. When everybody else arrives and you look different? Go to your vehicle and change it up. Problem solved.

Vests: I like that look over long sleeves early in the season. What I don't like is the stiffness of the tackle twill or the cost of having it made for a split front vest.

Back to uniform pieces: unless your coach or asst. coach in charge of uniforms is a crazy person who makes willy nilly changes, it's easy to establish what to wear and when. Provided your pants are always the same color, it's color jerseys for away games or Saturdays and solid color unis (white/white) for home games or Sundays.

See?? It's not that hard after 10 years of practice!!! LOL.

Rippit, this is exactly our system. We have a duffle bag we got for free at an Atlanta Braves game. It hangs on a hook in the laundry room. As uniforms and accessories get taken off/washed, they are automatically put in the bag, which then goes with us to all the games. We even have a plastic shopping bag in there for muddy cleats. This way, nothing ever gets left behind.
