Congratulations on a most impressive 57 run scored and only 1 run allowed tournament championship win. Tell us what you thought about the tournament baseballpapa.

baseballpapa, how can this kind of competition be even remotely interesting to you guys? 57 to 1, 56 run differential for the weekend?!!! That's absurd. Well done for sure. I got to watch one of your games this weekend after hearing so much about you guys. My take is that your strengths are pitching, defense and baserunning. It appears that you have a couple of strong hitters in the lineup but I did not see stud hitters from top to bottom in the game that I saw. All of the hitters DO know how to get on base though. Bunts, walks, HBP, slap hits and hustling down the first base line ... whatever it takes it appears. Congratulations to you guys. We would all be smart to learn from you guys.

I thought that this was a great way to open the season by playing in a strong field of great 10U baseball teams in a tournament that was well organized and played for a great charity. Didn't you love the Miracle Field that they have built. Made me really appreciate how fortunate we all are to have healthy children.

Guys I have tried not to brag on my 10U Bandits but after this weekend I hope that you all will indulge me and allow me to at least let me say how proud I am of our guys. If you only knew how hard they work and the effort they make to be a good baseball team you would appreciate more how I feel this morning.

The team is now 10-0 with a total of 101 runs scored and 1 run allowed.

But to get back down to earth I will tell you that the ball bounced our way and we seemed to be in the right place at the right time. There are several teams as good or better than us. We do not intend to do anything except work harder. A lot is said about our two lefties but very little has been said about our other pitchers that have pitched as many innings as the lefties. These kids can also pitch.

Even all of you have to admit that our hitting was sub par and that this is one area that we will be addressing this week trying to get ready for the Super NIT.

baseball 99: Are you kidding? Did you see the game with Kennesaw, or 643. Either game could have changed on one play. Both hard well played games that we were fortunate to win. To win here takes all of our effort and most games are a challenge to put it mildly. We are going through one of the rare streaks that comes along once in a lifetime. We know that it won't last forever so we plan on enjoying it while we can. I am sure that the Super NIT will bring us back down to reality. You are right on about our strengths and our weakness. Good thing is that the pitching is almost always there, the defense so far has always been there, they are fast and run smart getting good jumps and our hitting is not even up to our own expectations but at least we know what to be working on.

Congrats Bandits on a great tournament showing. 1 run in a very competitive tournamanet speaks volumes. The 2 lefty's are really shutting people down! Where is the competition at 10 and under? Where are the Sandtown Red Sox?????

Papa, I was not fortunate enough to see either of those games although I would have enjoyed them I'm sure. I meant no disrespect ... just admiration.

baseball99: I wish you could have seen them because they were really good games that could have went either way. We are fortunate in that we seem to have learned how to manufacture a few runs and the way we are pitching and playing defense a few was enough. We appreciate the kind words and promise to continue to keep working hard. We know how hard the Super NIT is going to be and in my opinion might be tougher than the Disney tournament with the quality of teams entered. You never know how the games will go but I do feel like we are as prepared as possible and I really do believe that if you can beat Duluth, Kennesaw, and 643 that we can play with anybody. We could go from the top of the mountain down to the depths of the valley if we do not play as well at the Super NIT as we did this past weekend.

The Bandits seem off 2 a great start allowing only 1 run the whole weekend. For those who may be wondering about the Sandtown Red Sox they're definitely in the mix of top teams in state. Due 2 bad weather a couple weeks ago they did'nt get a chance to show how they measure up at the Triple Crown Tourny at East Cobb. But this weekend should be a good preview in Dalton with both teams looking 2 send a message a week b 4 the Super NIT.

I must say that the Bandits have a very solid team from top to bottom and like everybody else there are going to be areas of improvement throughout the season.

The Red Sox team is very fundamental and well coached team with potential to go deep in any tournament they enter.

This will be a tremendous match of 10yr old kids with Major League mentalities..... Can't wait to see how this one turns out.

Edge: Red Sox

wolf20 knows his baseball. The good thing is that we also know our baseball and no one understands more the things we need to work on than our coaches and so that you will be proud of us we are already working on our weaker area. Wolf 20 says edge to Red Sox and looking at these two teams side by side I would agree but one thing you can't measure is heart and although they are small in stature the Bandits are large in heart. You all know that I shy away from predicting but I do believe that we will make the game interesting.

Well I have'nt told on this site who I am.( and most don't care) Maybe some of you have figured it out by my postings but for those who don't know my name is Bizzle and my son plays for the Bay Bombers, thats right he's the catcher/pitcher/third base. My son played for the Stixx in the fall and pitched the championship game against the Bandits for the Georgia Fall State Championship. He also played against them at Disney. Our team is as ready as any team can be for the Super NIT in Atlanta and we are looking forward to competing with the best Georgia has to offer win or lose.

Hello Mr. Bizzle: We are just as concerned about yourself and the other Florida teams that are coming up for the Super NIT. And then you mix in Alabama that has several really good teams and the Memphis Tigers and West Tennessee somethings and this might be one of the premier tournaments in America that weekend. This mixture of great teams should produce an explosion that might be heard back in Florida.

The Bandits and the Red Sox are two great 10yr old teams. These two will meet up this weekend in Borderwars in Tennessee. They both have great pitching, coaching and heart. It will come down to the team that makes the least mistakes.

You have got to love this area for baseball especially 10U. You fight your way through one tough tournament and you feel that you have played your best and then turn around and realize the next week that you must play better if you want to continue to win. This speaks very loudly as to the quality of our teams and coaching in this area. Trust me when I say that you all make us better because we know if we are not ready then you will be ready to take us down.

One thing I believe in is that the better competition you play against make you a better team in big games. Over the past year and a half, the Bandits have played in all the big tournaments, this experience makes you better. This is a very season team. I look forward to seeing how the Red Sox match up against them in Border Wars as well as the Super Nit. I'm glad to see the Red Sox finally stepping up to the challenge and playing in more competitive tournaments to get the most out of there kids.

Boy,we seem to forget past years. But I recall seeing a team the past 3 plus years that's had alot of bite. There are located on the south side of town. They have won a lot of big tournaments. They are still out there. Just had a slow start. See you next week. Roof Roof!!!

bmoser knows of some team in Gwinnett that has a couple of hard throwers and big hitters....perhaps thats the sleeper.

ECB Tigers are known to be good. Same for Sandtown and Gresham Park / Yarddogs. Millcreek is a good team but not under the radar.

The ECB Luck might be pretty good too.

Well PaPa it looks like we will get to meet early in the tournament. Can't wait to play good baseball with your team. Now what strategey do we take knowing we have to play each other this early. After its all done I just hope they say you no that championship game was good but the Bombers and the Bandits was the best game of the tournament.

10BB: At least you now know that the Bandits have nothing to do with scheduling. You can also believe that we are scratching our heads on how to handle this first match up. Do we give you all we have early or save it for the bracket? I've got to think you all are thinking the same things. This is exactly why our Coaches get the big bucks. Whatever happens I feel that the fans will know that they saw two great teams going at each other. I know that I might be quite a bit older so believe me when I tell you that this is exactly the way the Baseball Gods wanted this to be. We look forward to the game and wish you the best of luck.

The Bombers are not as tourney ready as the Bandits. Advantage Bandits.
On Friday, the Bombers will see the Bandits top pitching as well. 6-4 Bandits.

In 19U, its not even close...Gulf Coast Lightning got a AAA team (be careful though, they can play some ball!), and a Major team that was reclassified down from 9U to 10AAA, but must have appealed.

There is no best draw. All pools will be hard work for all the teams involved. I don't think Mr. Bizzle was asking for the Bandits, I believe what he said if that he wanted to play the best, win or lose so he only feels the same way we do. Make no mistake we have great respect for these teams and will hold our heads high whichever way it goes.
