Did you even read the article? Jerry Ford is the President (and founder) of Perfect Game and has nothing to do with triple crown.

The article was called "Recruiting Column: What you need to know about showcases"...and I thought he was very kind. He basically said research your showcases. If your kid as a 2.5 GPA there is not point going to the academic/Ivy showcases. If your kid can't hit high speed pitches then don't bother going to a showcases, just let him play baseball.

Jerry Ford is a legend. He created the concept of PG and didn't make a profit for several years. He loves the game and loves to help kids achieve their next level dreams. There have been countless times where he has allowed players with financial difficulties to come to his showcases for free, just to get them in front of people who could help the kid achieve his dream.

If your kid wants to play past high school any interview Jerry Ford gives advice in should probably be taken to heart.
