1. 643 (no longer a sleeper - core played 10U in 2010)
2. ECB Yankees & ECB Longhorns (both signficantly improved over 2010 based on web)
4. GA Yard Dogs (always the favorite but may not have kept pace with the rest)
Hon.Mention: Oregon Park, Acworth

1. GA Yard dogs until proven otherwise.

2. EC Longhorns added two from the Yankees that will add strong pitching and bats.

3. OP Sharks can their pitching keep up? Acworth picked up 3 should be strong. 643 picked up 5, 2 played 10U last season - saw'm looked strong. EC Yankees not sure about this team this year, had some big losses but also picked up some.

1. Yard Dogs (but this is getting close to end of run based on history)
2. ECB Yankees (saw them, very strong - top 4 pitchers may be unmatched)
3. Ringgold Tigers (all big kids who are now playing with confidence)
4. ECB Longhorns (although rumors swirling that team may implode)
Folks that I have come across say both 643 & Acworth lack pitching depth to advance past 2nd round of playoffs (against better teams). OP Sharks are on the bubble but still rely too heavily on 1 & 2 starters. OTC lost main player to ECB, and merge with EP Mets doesn't compensate for loss. Covington Sting & Elite Red will need to play teams on this list to gain notice.

Wills Park Warriors can hit with anybody when they're hot. They added a few pieces so don't be surprised when they jump up and bite the aforementioned big boys!!!!

And, don't forget BlueJays Baseball. What they had is bigger and better and they added some and subtracted some. They had a decent fall with a modified roster and even managed to beat the YardDogs one lovely afternoon!!!!!

Ok enough with the bashing of the Longhorns. "rumors the team may implode"! Are you kidding! 10 players returned from last years roster and only 2 additions came from the very talented ECB Yankees. Where are you people getting your information? Implode...constant turnover...stop talking about teams and things you know nothing about and stick to using this site for the correct purposes. I realize its fun to bash East Cobb teams but do it somehwere else and do it with correct information. The only thing thats going to implode is half of the folks heads that spew this trash when they get their rear ends handed to them by teams like the Longhorns, Yankees, and Yard Dogs among others. Simply ridiculous to make these comments publicly when there is no basis. Absolutely not fair to the kids, families, and coaches that dedicate their time to the Longhorn team. And any team that has false accusations and statements made about them on this site for that matter. If I posted every rumor and negative comment said about many of your teams Stan would permanently close this site. Take a lesson from Papa and see how you handle, respond, and treat other teams with respect, class, and humbleness. The Longhorns will have to work even harder this season because so many other teams have improved...which is exactly what we should be applauding instead of tearing down others to satisfy so many overblown egos. Sorry to vent but I can't stand negativity when we are talking about 10 year old kids! have a great holiday...

In this age group there seems to be good talent throughout the state. Many teams could argue they have the best.

And1., I totally agree with you. I mean really, who comes up with this information. From my understanding it's not how you start (Yard dogs #1 in state),It's how you finish ( Yard dogs #3 in the COUNTRY). So from going #3 in country to ranking #3, or 4 in the state of Georgia without even playing one game. Please, we are 30 days away from 2011, lets not go into the new year with all this negativity and team bashing. Steel Will, the blue Jays beat the yard dogs, is that before or after the elite 32 Orlando. From my understanding, wasn't that a scrimmage game with the yard dogs being without some key players ( don't forget to mention that). The yard dog organization is bigger and stronger than ever before from the 7yr. old to 8, and 9yr. old. We don't rebuild, we just reload. I hate to say but the yard dogs have added some more STUDS to go along with the STUDS. My top 4 teams are as follows. 1. Georgia Yard dogs( Enough said) 2. EC Longhorns( can play with the best) 3. Oregon Park Sharks( scrappy, has a lot of heart). 4.????( you tell me).

AMEN And1. Add the EC Astros to your list of teams bashed for no reason. I think too many people forget this blog is about 10 year olds who really just want to have fun and learn to play better.
I don't like gausssas post to begin with. If you are "working on something very special with the Florida state director" and need to know who the top four teams are going to be then you are working on a tournament designed to exclude teams instead of working on a tournament where every team has a shot at entering and winning. GAUSSSA should rethink this special event because any team could beat any other team on any given day and setting up an exclusionary tournament is just wrong.
Even the pros have to play a full season to determine the best and then they have to get through playoffs to reach the World Series.

Nobody is bashing anybody and GAUSSSA is trying to build an elite tournament. It's an honest evaluation and the Astros people need to relax and realize it will be sometime before people can see what they see. Well, actually it will take winning a lot. As for who are the top teams, they typically win and are simply being mentioned. East Cobb isn't being bashed, but I do agree that the rumors get stupid. I said that both the Yankees and Longhorns are easily in the top 4 (they have about 130 wins and like 15 tournament championships between them last season). Guru - Yard Dogs are tops, but I don't think they played the Longhorns last year. This isn't meant to put them down...no, in fact they have everybody's respect. I just don't know why they have to have #3 in the country, etc, when they are 1-0 versus the 2 & 3 teams from their own state, especially when that win was a really close game. I'm not a East Cobb supporter either, just trying to stay real here.

As for the rest, 643 hasn't played anybody yet but I honestly believe they are very strong but can understand that until the wins are on paper we may all be unable to back things up right now.

Bubba commented in post for another age group that selection of these teams cannot wait until play of SNIT. With offseason moves, no way to confirm current best. Based on play I saw last year I would put top 4 as:
GA Yard Dogs
ECB Longhorns
ECB Yankees
Oregon Park Sharks

I really don't have a dog in the fight for being the best in 10u, but IF everyone wants to see the best play against each other in 1 tourney, and "gausssa" needs a top 4 from the state before SNIT so he can complete his special project, and everyone has their team set now, WHY NOT do a "at cost" tournament to determine the top 4. I for one would love to come out and watch that playoff. Everyone could vote for the top 10 and those are the teams that play. Sounds like everyone is 99% in agreement on the top 5 so it would give the other half a chance. Just my $.02

I think this is a Travel Ball Select rating. If you go out and play the big tournaments you get noticed on a National Level. Don't knock thier ranking. They finished 3rd at Disney in the Elite 32. No other team below the age of 13 from GA has done that. With that said, they don't have to play the 2 and 3 teams in GA when they play the 1 - 10 teams nationally. That is staying real....

Guys, please stop the bashing of each other as it's not worth all that. All i am trying to do is get a feel of who should be the favorites this year in every age group. Yes, i'm putting together a highley competitve tournament and it will require getting teams on board early because it's a out of town trip and teams must plan ahead. Will I get it perfect this first year??? No and I know that but I will get it very close. I would love to wait till after the Super Nit but as you all know, teams just don't plan that way...This event will come to GA next year which will allow all of us some more flexibility In the selection proces. Bare with me guys and trust what i tell you and what i do..Ask anybody who know's me and you will find out that i'm a strait shooter and a fair person...Again, please,,,,stop bashing each other....Have a great day....

Since many of the top teams dont play an active Fall schedule, you really have to go by last seasons team and figure out the roster changes. I think the consensus top 3 are the Yard Dogs, ECB Longhorns and ECB Yankees. The #4 team could be:

OP Sharks
Ringgold Tigers
Elite Gamers Red
North Cobb (Acworth) Warriors
643DP Cougars

Ok since everyone wants to keep it REAL. The Yard dogs are a NATIONALLY ranked team. What that means is if you go to the state of California, Florida, Michigan, North and South Carolina, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and all of Texas just to name a few, and ask one question. What team in the state of Georgia has good all around youth baseball? About 99.5% would say the Georgia Yard dogs. The ECB organization is good when players reach a certain age. That's why we don't have to continously play local teams. We have nothing to prove. We have everything to prove on a National level because we are representing the state of Georgia. Not taking anything away from any other team. But it seems as though we are the only team that steps outside of the box to face top competition. Facts don't lie.. Kind regards

What's great about Georgia baseball is you could take 10 teams and all would be a factor in tournaments throughout the country. Fact is Georgia baseball is solid. Look at players signing scholarships and getting drafted out of Georgia. Hats off to all programs. I have not looked this up but I would beat if you looked at USSSA World Series, Grand Slam World Series,, or wherever Ga. was represented in top 3.

Pertaining more to the question

Yard Dogs
ECB Yanks
ECB Longhorns
Covington Sting if they were classified here
OTC Bearcats
I really don't know after this. Even with this we'll have to wait and see. I know a lot of players probably haven't even seen a baseball since their 2010 season ended.

Where are you getting this information that the OTC Bearcats lost their best player to the ECB? Yes they have lose a player but he was not the main player... they still have there top 4 players..The add-ons from E.P. Mets team was a plus.

Hitman6 welcome to the board! This is the "off season" of travel baseball and part of it is to talk about moves, teams and who do we think is going to be the best, and yes a little trash will be talked. I don't think anyone on here is trying to take anything away from the kids that love to play the game. This is not rec ball this is travel and just like the kids put in alot of time so do the parents and I don't see anything wrong with tooting your own horn or making comments on the upcoming season, that's what this blog is mostly about as long as it's kept civil. gl on your upcoming season.

You gotta love pre-season kid travel ball. As much time and money that we spend doing this , we have to try and one up each other for the love of the game , and as long as it dose not get to ugly it can get down right comical from time to time. I hope everyone has a great season , we will see ya at the 10 year old battle ground.
