I want to see the non-Georgia teams get pounded. We may disagree on who is the where in our state rankings, but I think we ALL of want our big guns to send a message to the rest of the Southeast! There are more than a handful VERY dangerous Georgia teams in this mix!

I think you need to put TC Spring Frost Champs the OP Sharks on your Top Majors list.

I'll make my top Majors list 6 Teams.

1. GA Yard Dogs (last years champs)
2. Longhorns
3. Orlando Tigers
4. OP Sharks
5. 6-4-3 DP
6. Yankees

Only one GA Hurricanes out of Cumming from my knowledge. The other "Hurricane" teams are in the East and West Cobb area if I am not mistaken, so the team listed in Flowery Branch looks like the team from Cumming.

It looks like the GA Hurricanes walked away with the trophy in Battle at the Branch last weekend so your predictions were right.

The Hurricanes will have to plan on playing more major level teams if they want to be among the best majors at the end of the season.

Have not seen Signature park play. We will get to see a lot of new faces outside the dominate 4 from last year. Should be a great weekend of baseball. Good luck to all.

Alright got to take a better look at the pools tonight and here is what I got.
Pools Favorite Contender
A. Orlando Tigers-Gamers Red
B. Bay Bombers-Nitro Baseball
C. GA Yard Dogs-Wills Park
D. Oregon Park-EC Yankees
E. EC Longhorns-Team Desoto
F. 6-4-3 DP-SC Cyclones
G. NC Warriors-Mill Creek

Toughest pool has to be D with OP, Yankees, OTC and the Carolina Cubs. Toughest to pick a winner has to be pool G with the NC Warriors, Millcreek and Covington, all of these teams could win it but I think NC has got some confidence coming off of last week.

I pick Carolina Cubs to win tournament. Tough Elite 32 team with strong national ranking. At very least, they will win Pool D hands down.

One thing that will help many of the out of state teams is the size of their rosters. Just looking at a few I'm seeing 16+ kids listed and most play on a couple of different teams. The extra pitching if they bring their full rosters has to be a big help in a tournament with this many good teams. The Yard Dogs are the only instate team that has a similar size roster that I could see. The Carolina Cubs have some good wins over 11U Major teams, it will be interesting to see how they do, we'll find out early with their matchup with the Yankees Friday night.

As baseballnutz noticed earlier in the week, the 10u schedule was pulled off of usssa's website. It reappeared very briefly with the Orlando Tigers no longer showing and the 9u Yard Dogs replacing them. The seedings were not reshuffled....the 9u yard dogs were just slipped in to where the Orlando Tigers were. Then fairly quickly it was changed back to show Orlando Tigers back in. Will be interesting to see if Orlando makes the trip or if the 9u Yard Dogs play after all and in the place of the 1 seed.

The NIT is SUPER loaded with talent this year. Not only are the local teams very strong, but the out of state teams as well. It will be a tough weekend of baseball. Watch for 6-4-3 to be there late Sunday. In AAA, it will be the Blues and the Hurricanes at the end. The Canes will have to play more Major type tournaments but for those not familiar with them, check where they began to where they are now, more than impressive. Like 6-4-3 they are just so darn well coached and that is a huge factor as the boys age.

643 has done well so far, but has done so by keeping teams off balance. They don't have the pitching depth though, especially after the good teams make the adjustments over the course of the season. I think 643 will do well in pool play, but they lack the depth to get 2 games into the bracket.

Lots of good comments on this discussion. I think you will begin seeing more and more teams compete at the highest level (OP, 6-4-3, Hurricanes and Signature Park) to name a few. Most of these teams did not play in the highest classification last season. I see the Canes were re-classified to 'A; this season. I agree with ECB that coaching will begin to play larger and larger roles within this age group. Check out the websites of 6-4-3 or the Canes. You will see the foundation for very strong teams in the future. I am anxious to watch this age group over the years.

Gohornets - you make it sound like a fluke that 6-4-3 has done well early this season and the "better teams" will adjust. Have you seen them play? We've played them and what I took away was that this team can hit, pitch, play defense and they are very well coached and it's early - what if they continue to improve? They have wins over the Yankees, OP, NC and the Yard Dogs - I don't think any team in the state can make that claim, but to be a top team they need to finish on Sundays which they have yet to do. You're right about one thing they may be gone early in bracket play depending on the matchup.

The Hurricanes are a good team but will need to play and win against better teams to be talked as a top team.

Watch out for North Cobb this weekend, they have a lot of pitching and can hit the baseball.

How difficult is it going to be to maneuver from one field to the other? I've never been to any of these fields.

Each of these parks are about twenty minutes (not withstanding traffic) apart. My best suggestion would be to plug it into a gps and AVOID I-75 at all costs. Even on the weekends it's normally a parking lot in both north and south bound lanes. All three parks are relatively close to Hwy 42.

Congratulations to the Longhorns for their 4-3 victory over the Yard Dogs. Great to see two outstanding Georgia teams battle in the championship. Especially sweet to keep those non-GA teams from getting the 1 Elite 32 berth USSSA restricts us to.

All-Tournament Players Park would like to say congrats to the East Cobb Longhorns for winning the 10u Major Super NIT. Also congrats to the Yard Dogs as well as the 9 GA teams that finished in the Top 15. Awesome weekend for GA Baseball.
