ItsBBTime - Sounds like you're ASSUMING "unashamedly" that you'll qualify for the GA-FL Elite Championship.

I must admit extreme jealousy over the schedule you guys are embarking upon including THREE trips to Alabama...NICE!

SW- Yes, we think we will qualify for the GA-FLA Elite Championship that weekend....

We have put together a very tough schedule to see what we can accomplish as a team.... These boys will be challenged.... That's what they want...

Just like our first tourney in Fla Feb 18th-20th in Sarasota. Double elimination against the best 9 teams in Fla.... BTW- We start with Team MVP and Team Combat....Does not get tougher than that.

As I stated, I think I am the only one in GA to do so, our tournament goal with these kids is to win every tournament we play in.

Happy New Years!!!!

Looks like many teams took advantage of the discount and signed up early for the bigger Triple Crown events. Teams I didn't see and hope they will sign up later for individual tournaments are; GA Sting, ECB Astros, The Blue Jays, Ringgold and the GA Hurricanes. These all should be some of the stronger teams and will only make these events that much stronger.

itsbaseballtime,

I certainly understand the benefits of playing up, however I hope you would reconsider and play some 11U locally. I bet there are several 11U teams really wanting to play y'all.(I am not one of them). No doubt the Astros have put together a great roster, but should you not win a few tournaments in your age group, before assuming its time to play up?

I NEVER said they are not a great team, I just think that some of the other Atlanta teams will be just as good as teams they will see in Alabama or some other States. Which local tournaments have they run through unchallenged? I never said it was about anything especially trophies!!

If I remember the Astros played in one 11U event in the fall and didn't win it. Yes, I think they will be very strong but I would like to see them win a couple of events before moving up. I'm sure their staff has a plan and I wish them well.

Well one month away and I just look forward to playing at this level. If it wasn't for teams like the Astros we wouldn't have goals to reach. They make the kids better because the kids want to be like them. I wish everyone the best and look forward to seeing this level of competition.

Good Luck to all!! I hope we have several teams representing GA in the big tournaments. Maybe I will get the opportunity to see them play this year.

As far as getting the most out of the kids, I can only speak for mine, but he plays with more intensity and heart when he is playing against kids he knows or has played with or against.

The expectations are far less playing up on the kids and coaches not having to win while seeing better competition and prepairing for the big events.

Well said wareagle, I'd like to see many GA teams competing and winning against the best from around the country come June,July and Aug.

Nutz, yes we did play in a TC fall tournament...... First time we had stepped on a field as a team that was 90% complete...went well for what we were trying to see... We are playing in USSSA 12u tourney the week we get back from Sarasota(best of Fla ) and then the TC spring frost as our first11u GA tournament(We will play in Blue jays tourney that weekend if comp is better.) Then another 12u tourney and then 11u SNIT... Playing up at 12u is no cake walk. We are going to get better but also will do what we can to win...see what you can do to get everyone to the TC tourney or Blue Jays the forst weekend of March.

itsbaseballtime, looks like the GA Sting are penciled in for the TC Frost. With RBI, both 6-4-3 teams and the Sting already in it looks to be a pretty good field now and hopefully more to come from what it hear.

1. SAWNEE MOUNTAIN THUNDER (SIMS)--CUMMING, GA
2. NINTH INNING ROYALS--CHAMBLEE, GA
3. RBI--ACWORTH, GA
4. ALPHARETTA, ATHLETICS--ALPHARETTA, GA
5. 6-4-3 DP COUGARS--MARIETTA, GA
6. CROSSROADS BASEBALL--LAWRENCEVILLE, GA
7. 6-4-3 DP JAGUARS--MARIETTA, GA
8. EAST SIDE HURRICANES--MARIETTA, GA
9. GEORGIA STORM--ALPHARETTA, GA
10. EAST COBB TITANS--MARIETTA, GA
11. georgia sting--newborn, ga

This past Fall... Reebok beat Astros...Dodgers beat Reebok...Wills Park beat Dodgers...OTC beats ??? plus RBI, Titans,JCS,6-4-3 and others. Bottom line 11u in Ga. is strong (Parity). If you dont bring your A game anybody can win. If you think there is a dominate team in 11u like the Ga. Bandits were in 12u last year it is not going to happen. This is one yr. you dont have to travel to get all you want. Think we will save our money for when it really counts to travel.

Neverquit - AGREE!
Gonna be interesting to see some rosters when they all get posted. Utrip dropped OTC to AAA on their reclassification, but there is talk of them being a top team? Several new teams formed by combining 2 teams? Which teams will gel and become great? Which kids will hit a big growth spurt and dominate at the plate or mound?

Can't Wait for it to start!!!

When the Bandits were 11u we played in several 12u tournaments to start the year and even sought out the 12u Astros at the time. It definitely prepares your 11u team for anything you will see at the 11u level but it also puts a lot of stress on your team. Overall, it was a good thing but it's not completely beneficial to the 11u team. Our Sting team played in a 12u event this past Fall and it was good for the boys. One of the kids they faced on the mound was throwing at 70+ and they stood in and battled hard against him.

I agree with neverquit that at the 11u level there is all the competition you can handle. I haven't seen (yet) a dominant team in the 11u age group. Then again, I haven't seen all the teams yet either. Sounds like the Astros might be that team though.

Wareagle.....where did you come up with OTC being reclassified as a AAA Team? They are listed as a Major team when you go under the USSSA directory of teams. Just wondering.

Picked up link from 12U discussion. I think they will move up to major, either by choice, or when rosters are released. I certainly viewed them as a major team. Only mentioned it because it seemed incorrect to me when I saw it.

I certainly think they are a major team, but I think I read the report correctly.
My original point was only that it will be interesting to see some final rosters.
