8:30 update: Raining once again. Games pushed back two hours so far. Hmmm, should have used last night AAU to get some games in.

AAU has dropped the ball on this one. Allow multiple teams to finish their pool play games before teams have even played is horrible. To allow some of these teams to reset and rest their pitching for brackets really does give those teams a unfair advantage over the teams that have not played any games yet. There is NO excuse for this. I also heard there was no reason for them not to play games last night. I really can not understand how they could allow this to happen.

aau is a mess. There is also some Tampa teams that have not played yet. In the 12u they have Team Florida & All American Pride playing 1st games against each other in pool, they play all the time here locally. Not what you would want when you spend all that money & stay away from home no matter the distance.

I agree this is a mess. Came here for the kids. No opening ceremonies, no reduced gate fees. Paid $48 dollars to see 1 game (family of 3). Some families struggled to fund this trip, now getting ripped at the gate. Could have played late last night & put many games out of the way, but they would have missed those extra gate fees. I think they could do better. We want to play baseball rain or shine all day and into the night if needed.

Thats a good one Baseball Fan..>LOL My inbox is full of emails from Rainupdate.com..LOL

My boy is playing on the SD Fury team this week, Have your son paddle his canoe over and introduce himself. LOL Thank goodness I am not there. I was going to fly out tonight but I am canceling now since we will be there for the Elites in a Month.

I do think AAU has done a good job communicating with emails and Text. My only problem is with them allowing a large number of teams to play most or not all of their games before others have even played one. Unexcusable in my opinion.

bball2000 I totally agree with you. The same exact situation happened in Omaha 2 weeks ago when we were there. They canceled all the games because of rain at 11 AM but the sun came out the rest of the day and it was hot and the fields were in great shape to play...WHOOPS Triple Crown thought it would continue to rain but it did not. They get a Kick Back from the CWS for every "General Admission" ticket they give to each team. Since the night before we played last and did not make it to the opening games. TC was hell bent on making sure we went to the games on Sat. Then on Sunday we had to play 4 games Back to Back to Back to Back without a break to win the Championship. So I have decided to not travel outside of Calif for baseball after this season. No need to because we have great compitition here and the weather is great.

The whole Orlando / Disney thing whether AAU or Utrippin' or whatever, bites with their gate fees etc. No other comments about it because it only gets worse.

Now the fun begins. Pitchers are burned going into bracket play for those of us who did not get the favorable scheduling the AAU went with this week while other teams start over fresh.

Stepoff, You are correct with the favorable schedule. Some teams had 2 days off and are reloaded with all pitchers with Max innings. Just not right if you ask me. In my opinion they should allow more innings kind of take the USSSA of an 3 day total of 9 with anythin over 3 in a day you must rest the next day. There were teams done on Tues with pool play. I will say this that all the so called top teams are not one of them that had a 2 days or 1 day layoff. Most had to play yesterday and today.

On a side not the Umpires have been the worst I have seen for a National Event.

OK Who are the Patriot Baseball Academy Blue? We play them in the Morning.

We had our chances this week and did not capitalize but we have played some really good ball (bout time). Hats off to all the teams who have waited to play and then came out and played some great baseball. Go after it and finish strong! Already looking forward to next year at 12U level. Prep work starts soon enough.

strike zones have been awful all week. we had one call where our team threw a wild throw home that hit the umpire and they made the baserunner go back to 3rd.. couldnt believe the other coach didnt have a fit.. Some bad calls going all the way around for sure

Patriot Baseball Academy is a team primarily made up of Sharon Springs Park kids. If the SD Fury is as good as advertised they shouldn't have trouble w/them. Then again it's baseball and anything could happen.

Good showing thus far by Georgia teams. By my count 5 of 9 made Diamond Bracket. Wouldn't be surprised if Savannah made a run. SPX went 3-0 in pool and got a good win against Team Combat. Good luck GA!!

Just noticed EC Mudcats lost both of their games by 1 run to the 2 diamond teams from their pool. They must be playing some good ball in FL. Maybe they can bring home the Gold championship.

Bob Thanks, The Fury have 6 SD Stars,2 SD Elite, 1 Big kid from Mexicali Mexico and my son that use to play for the Nomads Elite. You are right it is baseball and as Baseball fan has said the Umpires and strike zone changed every inning. All our games were blow out. We gave up 14 or the 15 runs in the last inning. I talk to some other teams out there and they all said the same thing.

Let the real tournament begin... Good Luck to all the GA team....well at least until they play us.

Savanah Bulldog, West Englewood is a GOOD team that can hit. We faced them in the Championship game in Omaha. Reminded me of the GA Yard Dawgs.

5-0 Fury still batting in the first. Good Start

been watching on Apple Facetime via Ipad. Besides I have talk to a few of our coaches and parents along with a few other coaches I know and they all say the same thing. HORRIBLE UMPS...

FYI The Ump yesterday threw my kid out of the game....For Banging his helmet on the bench after a bang bang play at first base. FYI he was sitting in the dugout after the play when he did it. The umpire 50 ft away came unglued and tossed him. I won't go into the details, But it was overturned by the head umpire and TD who just happen to be in the Tower watching. We pay to much money to come 3000 mile to have over zealous umpires trying to ruin an 11 year olds experience. Funny part from what I heard was the coach from the NC team we were playing going out and Arguing for my son. Heard he almost got tossed to defending my kid. That would have been a first The opposing coach getting ejected for arguing for the other team...LOL

Fury 11-1 Pitchers pitched a No Hitter. Patriots Scored on a Walk,Stole 2nd and 2 ground outs later they scored. I was told they were a great group parents and kids.

Savannah beat the W Englewood Tigers. 7-1
Team Combat beat SPX 8-4
Lula Lugnuts beat Stingrays 7-2

I was messing with you. That's a great setup doing it FaceTime. We have had our share of bad umps at Disney, it seems to be a recurring theme there.

Good luck to your boys team rest of the way.

I have to agree with many of the comments. The weather was horrible early but more baseball could've been played. I'm not sure there were any night games. They wasted two evenings and there was noon and 2 pm pool game y'day. No games after 2 pm?

Oh well, proud of our team. They played solid minus a couple of innings. It was disappointing we had to play back to back games against the same team but we beat them 9 of 10 innings. Oh, that one inning. I'm sure many can relate.

Dude, You got some Shaddy AAU umps. Won't get into all the details but we shouldn't of put ourselfs in that postition to allow them to take over the game... lost 5-4 on a walkoff after leading 4-3 in the last inning. WOW I think I have seen it all now..LOL Good Luck the rest of the way.

Here's one. Kid gets picked off Twice but the ump at first wouldn't call it??? LOL Lets not talk about the Stikezone change in the last inning. gets 2 strikes on a batter but wouldn't call the same pitch for a third strike and then called pitches after that Balls??

Kids had a great time in FL. Oh well thats baseball for you.

Lula loses a tough one to a very good Orlando Tigers team. Played well and just short of making a good run. Have the respect of alot of good teams after this tourney. Proud of the boys.... came together and played like they were capable after a few late season changes. Doubt we will ever do the Disney thing again though..umps were fair for us but called it both ways just had to figure out their zone which for the most part was liberal. Saw some really good ball, and best of luck to Savannah the last Georgia team standing.

That sucks. I'm surprised it was a close game but like you said that is baseball especially 11u. Glad kids had fun at the end that's what it is about.

Titans vs MVP was a classic, nice comeback for MVP to pull it out.

I've seen worse umpires. I watched a lot of the Fury/Hornet game and didn't see anything crazy....other than the final, but you are right that is baseball. Noticed a lot of pick-ups on teams in this tournament.....and a lot of those teams are headed home. Wish the weather would have been better. Maybe we can pull off an upset tomorrow.
