Did the CF Gators have it planned to attend twice or just because of one game that went south? |

I am just guessing but I would think they are coming back for some revenge. Probably didn't leave a good taste with the last trip. I would certainly say they are the favorite to win it all this week. |

Their coach told me last weekend the boys voted to go back to "complete unfinished business". Qualified the week before for the NYBS, so passed on the Elites. Still not sure how you get in to Cooperstown with a weeks notice? |

Central Florida Gators vs Terror Baseball Black (LA) in Championship. Probably the weakest group of teams out of all the weeks this far. Gators and Terror should spirit through everyone just hope they end up on opposite sides of the Bracket.. |

Texas Patriots are a very good Major team. Gators and Patriots in finals assuming seeding works. I am a finance guy, but not sure I can count as high as the number of homers the Gators will hit next week. There will be some real ugly scores - I know first hand the Gator boys aren't the type that will let up on the scoring. Our boys had several games where they batted from the left side (we have all right hitters) to keep the scoring down. |

I went to CDP this year. Not as a player, nor a coach. Watching how BASEBALL OPERATIONS works at the park, it reminded me of how political baseball is, just like HS sports. If you know somebody there or are part of the "in crowd" you can pull off anything... |

I agree...i know of a few teams that wanted to go but were too late.
How did they pull that off?

We were on the waiting list until March and still didnt get a date for cooperstown. We sent our request in in the fall of 2011. We havent received our refund back either. Cant believe a team could go twice before some teams could go at all. |

CF Gators just won 43-2. What a disgrace to youth baseball. I have lost all respect for that program. Opinions? |

I think in COOP all bets are off. Even Lou talks about the records in the opening ceremonies. It's like they want teams to destroy other teams. Here is the problem with COOP. CF Gators may end up a lower seed than some other team who plays a crappy pool schedule because they gave up 2 runs. But clearly they should be #1 by putting up 42. They should change to runs scored to have a more competitive bracket schedule and help ensure the top 2 make it to the finals. |

This is why we haven't had a ton of interest in going to Cooperstown.....There are usually only a few good teams there....This is the kind of stuff that happens when super teams play rec teams. That is why it is rare to see this matchup at any other tourney. You won't see a rec team at a major state tournament but this is all pool play is in Cooperstown. Shame they beat up a team like that....No sense in it. I don't mind when teams win a by a big margin because they are trying to run rule someone to save pitching but 18-3 is a long way away from scoring 42 runs.....That is pretty bad |

Couldn't agree more. I said it on Sunday when the Gators scored 39 but it was not posted because of the words I used. Shows no respect for the game putting up that many runs on teams that are up there for the Cooperstown experience, clearly the outcome is never in doubt. If they are concerned about their seeding, then shut the other team out, but stop scoring at 20. We took intentional outs in week 4 to keep it somewhat reasonable.
Just happy Grant beat them at the TBS. |

I tried to say how I felt as well and it was not posted as well. I am glad I am not the only one. I think the game comes before hurting another team. My feeling is it gets lost on coaches that lose sight of the goal. I have umped for 10 years at the youth level and never seen such a high score. I have seen some creative ways to keep the score down when a team knows they are better by far from another team. I hope the coaches of Centreal Fla Gators played the game and are not pretenders backed by the financier. I would rather see them lose a game 3-2 in the Elite and would have more reverance to them if they lost that way versus winning by 50.

The team you are talking about has kids from Tpx, blueclaws regulators,Tpx grey, and one from the Gators. They are a pretty good team and I believe they have a shot, Lot of games to win but they have as good a chance as anyone. Would be a good opportunity for all of us from North florida to show some souport for a local effort. quote: Originally posted by BangTheBox

CFG played Terror and only won by one. That must have been a good game. Texas Patriots in semis. Hope Texas pulls it off and the CFG business in Cooperstown stays unfinished.

The Gators were out hustled, coached and hearted. The kids from PA had a sense of urgency and were moreso athletic. Also the pitcher shut them down for the most part and better used what he ump was giving them versus their mix of pitchers that could never fully command the zone and that was the differance. |

My stepson lives in Beaver Valley on the Delaware PA boarder and said the pitcher was only league age 11. If so, he is a major legit 11 and amazing at playing up. |

I umpired one of the CF Gator games in week 7. It was their 3rd game and they won 20 something to 2. In the game they won 42-3 they only went base to base unless they hit a HR. They were very good and very cocky. They lost in the final game and I believe it was 3-2. I did the semi final game with the Texas Patriots. This was my first time going to CDP and will be my last. I truely believe that the kids play way to many games in so few days. |
