Better than the way Hawaii got eliminated. Tough break. I still think the kid touched third.

I was really shocked at the sloppiness of the umpiring. The strike zone was pretty awful in many of the games I watched and many other calls were dubious. Georgia got screwed with the ball that went OVER 3rd and it was called foul and then with the play at 2nd where the runner was clearly safe and was called out. Many other calls that I cant specifically remember had me scratching my noggin.

Here is the one thing that absolutely gets in my crawl: I understand that they want to treat this as a major league atmosphere and have umpteen umpires on the field to "MAKE SURE", but this is a perfect example of when too much is a bad thing. I hate it when umps work outside the baselines....If these guys were allowed to come inside and work, many of the base-calls would be easier. There is no reason to have 6 officials on a 225 ft field.

Wonder if we had the use of slow motion replay in our tounaments what would it look like. Volunteers are just that volunteers if they were getting paid then we could gripe. GA just a victem of circumstances....... I thought several calls were missed and they were but in replay they were closer than I thought.

One thing I forgot to mention, I am 100% sure that the Ga coach dropped the dreaded "GD" after the game. ESPN tried their best to muffle it, but I am positive that I heard it.

Where any of our GA Boys registered USSSA? If so, what team?

I think in years past they have been but I didn't see any of the regional action this year and didn't catch any players' names.

Regardless of the limitations and rule differences, I'd like to play the LLWS...seems like a great event, well run and the boys have a blast.

One thing for sure, you better be short to the ball and have a quick bat at that pitching distance!

hmmm, according to their coach, 1st year for this Tennessee team's little league organization, Looks as if 8-9 players registered USSSA as playing together this year on a Bullets AA team, you have to wonder how many teams were in the their league and if they met Little League rules?

Does anyone know what the min number of teams or players in a league would be?

East Cobb you are correct there were players from these 3 teams - the Manager for team GA was the winning coach from the regular LL season - he doesn't coach travel ball.

I can only speak for the GA team but they do come from the same rec league. They all played a regular season on one of 10 11-12 year old Little league teams at Warner Robins American Little league. The majority of the boys on the GA team have played at wrall since they were 5 years old. The majority have also been travel ball players on various teams over the past several years. With the exception of a few that have played travel together, this was the first team that they have been on together.

They can play Travel ball, but they cannot be called the same team name. Once the regional tournament starts, LL players participating in the LL Tournament cannot participate at all in Travel ball tournaments. A while back a team called the Marietta Mets use to play travel ball a few weekends a month and they were the LL all-star team out of Marietta LL. Their LL team name was something else. A team in Miami lost the Regional on protest because they registered in a travel tournament with the same team name and roster.

The Columbus kids that won the LL tournament use to be in a lot of TB tournaments. I heard they had like 6 Columbus players on one travel team and the others were on another team. But that was years ago and I cannot remember what I had for lunch yesterday.

Let me correct myself - GA team consisted of players from the 5 teams in the West division of the 11-12 wrall park. There were 10 teams in that age group but there were 2 allstar teams that were formed due to a split division. Sorry if this is more info than anyone cared to know - just didn't want to spread misinformation!
