Wonder if a ECB team will make the finals. I would have to pick ECB Braves. 643 will be strong. Going to watch Auburn,Game ON & Warner Robbins. Glad they made the trip. |

Game-On-Bulls vs EC Braves at 3pm Saturday should be a doozy....Come out too light on the pitching and you could get shelled in this one!
A lot of big boppers on these squads.

Anybody know "which" flavor of 6-4-3 this will be? All Cougs? All Jags? Cougs & Jags mix? Tigers, Cougs, Jags mix? |

Have never seen Chain Black. Auburn Stixx previous years have always been a solid team, not overpowering, but will play solid defense. Good group of kids and coaches, that have pretty much stayed intact for several years. |

Looks like a good one this weekend! A good time to beat the rust off from playing football. Good luck to all the boys! |

Braves and Bulls should be a good one. With the schedule change Bulls will get some time to feel things out as a team against the Chain team. That will help them. We shall see! |

Well to get some talk going I'll attempt to pick pools. Pool A 643, Pool B Braves, Pool C Xtreme, Pool D Dawgs. Parity in this tourney dont think an ECB will make finals. Just saying not bashing. |

Are the Braves and Bulls playing at 3 or 7 (as the schedule reads). Someone told me it was a typo on the TC site. ????????????????
Looks like it's going to be a good tourney. Good luck to all that are in it. DirtD I spoke to one of the Bulls dad about the team and it looks like they've put together quite a squad from all over Georgia. It'll be interesting to see how they do for sure.
If they play the Braves at 7 I won't make it but I'll check the site. Maybe they'll match back up in bracket play on Sunday. |

Nelson with EX ECBERs looked good in pool. Went through their pools with ease.

Congrats to NBN and 643 on their wins last night. Both teams played solid D and attacked the ball when it was their turn at the plate.
BTW, is Nelson made up of only ex ecbers or are there others on the team? Just checking.

Nelson has 4 ex JCS, 4 ex Hobgood, 1 ex RBI, 1 ex Jackhammer, and 1 ex ECB. AT least thats where they were last year. But several have ECB on their resume from older seasons. Its a great mix of boys that get along well, play hard and are having a lot of FUN. |

Two interseting observations:
1. EC Braves lose to WPB (and use seven pitcher innings) 2. EC Yankees have 16 kids on the roster (according to pitching log) |

They did very well in my opinion on Friday night for sure. Looked relaxed at the plate and in the field. I was just asking because I noticed in one of the previous post that they were referred to as Nelson with EX ECBERs.

Braves lost in pool two weeks ago as well and came back to win the tourney. In the semis they routed the team that edged them in pool play.
Their 7 p.m. game will be one to note whether they win, lose or draw. I'd like to know the curve to fastball ratio that the WPB pitchers threw today. Nothing wrong with the curve if thrown correctly at this age (imho) but 3 to 1 in favor of the curve over the fastball might be a tad much.
Again, that's only my opinion and I'm not sure of the exact ratio.
Any updates on the Dodgers game vs the Stixx ?

Another interesting observation: Under pitching, one kid listed on two different teams and one kid listed is also on another roster not in this tourney.

Find it more interesting that WPB threw their ace for 5 innings in pool play than Braves throwing 4 kids and taking 7 innings.
Yankees look to be a mix of Yanks, at least one 643 Jag, and possibly some Astros thrown in? Looks like they stacked themselves for bracket play since football not an issue with no Saturday games for them.
Nelson always fields good teams (usually have older teams 16u up) so no surprise this team will be strong. |

The pitcher for WPB is supposed to be on Kennesaw Generals. Might be why he went five today for them instead of saving him for bracket. |

These blogs are insane. The Yankee roster is at 11, but for some reason the triple crown site still shows boys from prior years teams (that were on it 8U - 10U). I'm probably the cause (not computer savvy), as the brains behind past Yankee computer activities has moved on to better things. As for the team, we're not loading up, we're getting boys work in various positions, regardless of the opponent/score/game. It's a team that we're proud of, and who we believe will be extremely tough. Like most, we simply need to get in our work and early assessments, and then target both team and individual development prior to the spring. |

Thats why new usssa rules are a good thing the roster will be the roster and coaches wont be tempted to over use someone elses kid just to get a win. Very scary about the ratio of curve balls thrown. |

Not a bad debut for Game on Bulls today. We look to improve once we get a few games under our belt and spring arrives. Hopefully Sunday we will be able to play deep into the tourney and get everyone some much needed work. 643 looks strong and I would expect them to be there at the end. |

After watching a lot of these games, the parity of all the teams amazes me. I really think any of the teams this weekend can beat any other team on a given day. Hope this stays consistent through the spring as this is great for youth baseball. |

Aboutthekids, why would you insinuate such a thing about pitches?
3-1 ratio on curve balls is a ridiculous statement. Not what I was calling on pitches. Why even make a statement like that?
We lost one of our 9 kids to the Astros on Wednesday. Had to get a fill in and Kennesaw kid helped out. He pitched his butt off and dad was asked every inning if he was good with another inning. We do soooooo much for the kids here and work our butts off to compete with the big programs. Yesterday was a great day for the boys and nothing you can say can diminish what they felt to compete with the Braves. They may have been off, sick, missing kids or went easy on us, but my boys felt great after the games and had fun.
We lost to the Yankees today, but am still proud of the boys and congratulate the Yankees.
See ya at the next one.
