Astros/Kirksey make it to the ship. Think they only took maybe three from last yrs. Astros. Dodgers have the team speed hands down. RBI will always be in the hunt. Yankees and Tigers first yr. teams good players need time to jell. Maybe best tourney of the month. TBS?

I wouldn't be so quick to pick a winner. We don't know who is going to show up at which games.
Football, soccer, lacrosse-all are having games this weekend on Sat and Sun so I don't think we see any team with all their players for every game. Tough one to call.

Astros have the best team on paper and should be the favorite, next I would pick RBI. But like 4bagger said it depends on who is available. Do the Dodgers really have 16 active players on their roster at 12U?

Really? Take it with ease. I've studied the rosters but with the teams listed I doubt it will be easy.

Cant even pick who will be in the ship. Astros dropped out. Not enough players. Other teams heavy with football players but will play. Think I will try to pick one team that make the semi. lol

Everyone is right about the fall rosters. So many other sports going on so you never know who's going to show. Saw 643 last week and believe I noted more Jags on the field than Cougars on the field. Not sure though. Actually showed up to see three from the Cougars in particular and only one was there. You never know who will be available and who won't.

I think there'll be some awesome action regardless and I hope to stop by and check out a few of them on Saturday and Sunday.

Kinda like the format. Puts pressure to win all pool games. Would not be a surprise that only one team goes undefeated in pool. Shame one team will be put behind the eight ball with a loss tonight. We will get a look at what with ease means. Anything can happen in Fall.

6-5 in bottom of last inning. Yanks had bases loaded with 2 outs and RBI 2B made good over the shoulder catch. If he missed it the Yanks would have won 7-6 as all runners were moving on the hit.
Both teams had good pitching and struggled with hitting. One long shot for each team but they were playing on the 350' field. Yankees threw out a runner at home from right field on the fly and they turned a very impressive double play. RBI also turned a DP but it was pretty vanilla.
I heard Yankees have only practiced as a team 4 or 5 times and this was the first time one of the kids was with the team.
Overall- RBI should have handled the Yanks alot easier and the score should not have been close seeing as RBI has been together quite a while and never really stopped playing. For a newly formed team, the Yankees have strong pitching talent and after they have more time/games together they will be one of the stronger teams out there.

Closer than some thought and not as easy as others might have eluded to. A lot of baseball left to play this weekend to work on getting better and seeing who belongs in what positions on all the newly formed teams. That's what the fall is all about.

Both teams played very well at times and looked rusty at times. Hitting was what you would expect in the fall. The game could have gone either way. Very good pitching on both sides. For the record, RBI has three new players and the team has only gotten together three or four times since 11U ended back in July. It's fall and everybody is working things out. Great weekend for baseball!!

With all the kids that play other Fall sports, I dont know of any team that practices more than once per week. So around 5 or 6 times sounds average to me considering we are only in mid-October. Also, I have yet to see a team stay intact from year-to-year so roster changes are expected. Both of these teams look really good on paper with lots of experienced players.

Some very interesting results in this tournament. It looks like pretty much everyone is still in it.

RBI, 643, and Yankees are in for sure. Xtreme had some roster issues beating East Atl 10-1 then had to forfeit. East ATL vs RBI have to say RBI. Dodgers elim. but football players will be there Sun for RBI game could put Yanks in driver seat. Still up in the air and thats why we play.

RBI looked good in their last pool game and Yanks had a lead on 643 when we had to leave.

Got home to see that 643 came back on the Yanks and RBI won the hardware. Great job guys!

Congrats RBI USSSA State Fall Champs. 643 Tigers will be solid major good athletes. Yanks will be a good team but learned nothing is with ease at this level. Dodgers need to hit, have talent and speed. Xtreme solid AAA team will beat some majors. Good baseball overall.

I guess if you cannot beat them on field then you have to resort to a clerical error to get a win. Come on man.. this is Fall baseball with fluctuating rosters due to other sports. Everybody, even the kids on both teams knew who won that game!

The coach was notified of what we were going to do in the 2nd inning, we wanted to play more ball(we live 1hr 15min away and played 9am games both days, all the other teams were from Cobb, so why did we have to get up at 6am and play baseball?), so we played it out and yes they kicked our butt, and yes their illegal player started
SS and pitched(didn't pitch against East Atl)..Needless to say coahes shouldn't put other coaches in that situation, nobody comes out on top. And yes, the Alpharetta coach was mad so he wanted to protest one of my players, which were legal, it got ugly just because he didnt do his job of putting a player on his roster. We didn't drive all the way to Cobb to get screwed. Our team played well and had RBI and ECB Dodgers shut out going into the 5th inning, coaches should continue to fight for their players and make sure the game is played accordingly.

Kudos to the 643 Tigers team for putting together a huge inning scoring 8-9 runs in one inning (with no outs) from a 11-3 or 4 deficit to beat the ECB Yankees and get to the Ship. Looks like Yankees ran out of pitching from what I saw so would be interested to hear from Bballguy about his "winning this tournament with ease" comment and what happened? Xtreme played some great baseball and agree with spliter they will beat some majors this year.

Probably need some work on their pitching like most teams this fall. Staying away from "with ease" comment. 643 did a great job to battle back at the end. The 3 or 4 errors behind the pitcher in that last inning did not help as a few of them cleared the bases. You can't give teams 6 and 7 outs in an inning and expect to win or hold a lead. Playing on the larger field seemed to be tough for a few teams this weekend. Balls either got by or fell in front of OF. Yankees will be a strong team as well as several others including the 643 teams. Parity in baseball is starting to show as these kids get older and the talent pool changes from the has beens to the soon to be's. Teams (and parents)can no longer afford to just show up thinking they will win based on past history or clasification. Execution of fundamentals is becoming more and more important.

Congrats to RBI for winning and 6-4-3 for making it to the finals! We enjoyed the competition and look forward to seeing many of you again this weekend at the Triple Crown Fall Championship.

I'm the manager of the Alpharetta Xtreme and just wanted to provide some clarifications around my roster snafu this weekend. This Summer, we expanded our program to include a second Spring team and due to normal Fall conflicts, sometimes a non-Fall player in our program joins us for a tournament.

This weekend, I forgot to add my 'extra' player to my official USSSA roster before our first game. He joined our program this Summer but couldn't participate full-time on our Fall team. He's not an illegal player, but I did fail to add him to the USSSA roster in time. He's on our Triple Crown, Diamond Nation, etc. rosters.

Our opponent protested the game over this roster issue during the game and we had to unfortunately forfeit the game. I felt absolutely horrible for letting my boys down over essentially a clerical error.

Most importantly though, I'm very proud of my boys for keeping their heads high and continuing to play some really good baseball after that and giving us a chance to still play for the title.

Last note - Rick Cosper did a fantastic job dealing with this and running a fun tournament. Thanks, Rick.

AlpharettaExtreme... I saw that game. I know rules are rules but it is a shame that card was pulled in Fall Ball with teams short players and yall were winning 10-1 late in the innings. Its Fall Ball the kids need work who cares about w/l in fall. We were lucky to get 6 teams to show up. Even the Astros couldnt field a team. If we were getting a kicking I would hate to use the rule book to win a fall game for a pretend State Title. Think Rick did the right thing. Yall have a great team. We wont complain about illegal players, illegal bats or illegals in your stands. Just want to play its Fall yall good grief.
