Roadrunners in the finals against Bomberz. No matter what happens, the Roadrunners have played incredibly well....beating Larmorinda and MBA Pride. Good luck in the finals tonight!
643, LOL, my team will be there in week 6. Thanks for the heads up about the Dominican National team. |

Congratlations to the Roadrunners!!! A super tournament!!! I sure hate I missed the webcast because I would have liked to have seen the pitcher who pitched the perfect game against one of the best hitting teams I have ever seen. The Bomberz kid struck out 10 of 12 batters. I sure thought the RR's would have kept it close and put down another two strike, two out bunt in the 6th to win the game. They had practiced that very well against us.
The EC Braves will be there week 6 also. After facing Goodman, the Team Velocity flamethrower and the Roadrunner big guns we should be ready for the Dominican heat! |

Congrats to the Roadrunners! Was anyone able to watch the webcast? We were set up to watch - remembering "old times" from our week at Cooperstown last week. We couldn't get the webcast. Anyone get to see it or was it user error?
To all the teams up there this coming week - have a great time!! |

Bomberz were unbelievable...very poised pitcher, didn't throw very hard, probably 70ish but offspeed was sick.....No excuses, we were beaten by a better team that day...Had a great week though and appreciate all the support from our Ga friends....Thanks again...By the way, web cast was down...still dont know why yet, but my phone was blowing up with family and friends asking what was going on...Probably something you didn't need to see anyway...hahahaha |

Not much to say but that we simply ran into a team that had more left in the tank. They run ruled every team they played this week except in the semi's. Man that team could swing the bats top to bottom. And I could not believe that they still had that arm in their pocket. He was very good to say the least.
We had two wars in the quarters (Lamorinda) and semi's (MBA) and had played until 1:30 the night before. The Bomberz had already beaten their team on Wed night and were in bed by lights out. Our boys ran out of gas and then ran into a hell of a team....congratulations to the Bomberz!
So proud of our boys for getting to the finals! 9-1 for the week and beating some very strong teams along the way. Being on the field and playing in the final game was unbelievable! Those boys will remember that day for a long time!!!
Thanks to all of the Georgia people who where supporting us along the way! The Georgia teams that were there (Oregon Park Dawgs, Sandy Plains Wildcats, Cherokee Reds, Due West Hoyas, Windward Rangers, West Cobb Wildcats, Dunwoody Devil Rays, sorry if I forgot anyone) were awesome with their support! Also a big THANK YOU to our unofficial fan club in the Glencoe Blue Thunder and our friends from the Fowlerville Falcons!!!
Good luck to ALL of the Georgia teams that still have their trips to go up in Cooperstown! It is a blast and something you will never forget! One word of advice above all others is patience! Don't rush around and lose your cool. It is a looooonnnnngggg week, just take it as it comes and have fun! |

643dad: I am pretty well informed regarding youth baseball in the Dominican Republic. Indeed, there are many 12u kids that throw very hard and perhaps even 80 MPH. However, you must realize a couple of things: [1] generally the kids who are excellent ball players in the D.R. are from extremely poor families and certainly cannot afford the price per player that is charged at Cooperstown. For most youth baseball international tournaments [i.e.,Disney and Puerto Rico]the kids who participate are of upper middle class families and generally are inferior in baseball ability. [2] many Dominican kids who play as 12u are often 14u or 15u (remember Danny Almonte ?). Could you give me additional information regarding the Dominican National Team? I would like to find out more about that team.

Pretty sad if you got to cheat in 12U baseball with kids from another country who are older. |

In the first week, Georgia teams killed. Sharon Springs baseball came in 9th. Renegades came in somewhere around 13th, and there were many other georgia teams. The southern states were definitely the best teams there. |
