Pool A:
1/2: Kennesaw/5-star

Pool B:
1/2: Minion/SF

Pool C:
1/2: Garner/EAB

Pool D:
1/2/3: Cellblock/G-ville/Dodgers

Pool E:
1/2: Xtreme/Tribe Gold

From there? God knows. I don't want to take the time to fill in the bracket, and continue with what-ifs. (EDIT: 1/2 and/or 1/2/3 are in no particular order...)

Lame. If you're going to envy a team better than yours, at least pick a winner. Like the AA powerhouse Sig Park.

Turntwo...we all know dirtbagger is delusional, but why the slight to Signature Park? Bandits never claimed to be Major, but are a tough AAA bunch.

Was referring to Bombers (friends on the team), and know the team is SOLID and will prove it this weekend playing up in the SNIT--AAA.

Honestly, not much. I know the program (and past teams-- re: last year's 11U team) are legit. Obviously that means nothing for THIS team. Just speculation/spit-balling/picking a relative unknown. I'm sure you all will fair just fine against them.

Should be a fun weekend. I see about 8 teams that I think could win it all and that doesn't include the hand full of teams I'm not familiar with. As with most big tournaments expect a couple upsets Sunday morning and then the traditionally strong teams that survive round one to be there late Sunday. In this tournament everybody will have 2 good arms. Only about 1/3 of the field have the 6-7 arms that it takes to win 4-5 games on Sunday.

AN IDIOT'S SUPER NIT PERFORMANCE RANKING
(Not a season long ranking!)

1-Team Xtreme ADIKTIV
Kids from Florida & Alabama
Now we know who they are!

2-Five Star Tigers
Two runs away from playing for the 'Ship
Traditionally scrappy; added power and size

3-Gameday Shockwave
Would have them #2 if that roster were truly all 11U

4-Ninth Inning Dodgers
Figured out too late that they needed to throw off speed at Xtreme

5-Cellblock Baseball
Starting to get back to where they were

6-Gamers Garner
Played a really solid slate of opponents

7-South Dekalb Gold
Picked up a tall kid from the Yard Dogs
Don't understand why teams kept pitching to him

8-EAB
Stop taking them lightly
Have the pitching to win a game in bracket
And to be competitive in a second bracket game

9-Game On East
Not as much depth as those above
Saved it all for bracket

10-Green Sox

11-Park Sharon Nationals
Another team that seemed to save for bracket

12-South Forsyth
Solid play as usual
Ran into Xtreme early in bracket play

13-Kennesaw
One of the best pitching staffs
Just haven't figured out how to score runs yet

14-Viking Baseball Elite
Picked up that crafty lefty from OTC
When he pitches they can be competitive with anyone

Once again, not a season long ranking

I understand that teams could not control who they had to play this weekend but I took that into consideration anyway

This resulted in me ranking teams both higher and lower than where they actually finished up

What do you guys think?

@maroon_tiger The kid from GameDay is legit. He is a big mature 11 year old kid. Coach Gross is a good guy and I can't let you make that comment without responding in defense of that team. We loss to a good 11U team that was well coached and filled with lots of talent. As far as the other rankings, I see a couple of obvious ones that I would change if I were into ranking but I'm not so I won't. We'll just keep playing and see how it goes as the season progresses.

obviously a flawed ranking of the teams, given that there is no reference to the mighty Astros of East Cobb. Just sayin'.

I think there is a lot more parity amongst teams this year. There are a lot more teams who can beat each other on any given day. That being said, it also seems that those teams who have invested the money in a paid coach to make game management decisions are playing more consistent baseball than those who still have coaches who are all fathers of players. No matter how fair or objective a father thinks he is, he will always favor his son, and the sons of other coaches on the team. This isn't a problem if the goal of the team is just to be a fun and social activity for kids and parents, but if the goal of the team is to have the best possible record at the highest possible level, it is a stumbling block that will be a constant source of contention resulting in declining team morale, and ultimately under performance on the field.

Once again, not a ranking of teams from this season
More like that RPI thing that they use in college basketball
Who you played this weekend and how did you do against them
If it were just pure rankings then the Gamers, South Dekalb, South Forsyth and Kennesaw would all rate higher

And thanks for straightening that out OrangeNblue

I agree wholeheartedly with Maroon Tiger's assessment of the tourney. It was a great weekend of baseball. The Florida teams are still a bit ahead on hitting, which you'd expect seeing some of them have 30+ games in already. It didn't help that DeMarini left us in a bad spot. We hit the ball hard this weekend with inferior bats. It seems as though Xtreme knew what was coming. They were well equipped. It will be a great season. I expect fireworks at the Border War.

It was a great weekend of baseball and the top teams came to play. FOR THE RECORD the kid from SHOCKWAVE is 11. I know this to be fact and they were playing good baseball and finally beat us. ( Cellblock Baseball)

The Border War is interesting because it would be valued if the true top 4 teams went instead of a coach calling to get his team in. Inferior bats well good luck coach that is all you are going to have to swing since Triple Crown has banned them to,so that is where we are now depending on a "super bat" to help our boys. In middle school and high-school they are swinging -3, so I hope you transition your boys soon. The NIT was a good showing of some new teams. I disagree with the justification of the rankings. In the past the rankings from the Tournament were used as indicators now you East Cobb Folks want to find away to slide your teams in by discrediting some teams. You East Cobb Teams are really only good when games are played in East Cobb with your East Cobb umpires.
1, 2, 3 I can see because that is what the bracket had and they were in the final four. 4, and 5 okay if you say body of work, but to have N.I in front of the Gamers, nah... and to say that the GOLD needs to beat "anybody" the last I checked they scored 17 runs in a win against an East Cobb team and they played some really good ball to be considered a AAA team on an earlier post. 1T1G

Who's the 4 teams? And really? Phone calls made...??? By? That's just ridiculous!!!! The 4 should easily be: Tribe, Dodgers, Gamers, and Cellblock. Period.

Anyone who argues ANY East Cobb team should be in the 4, are delusional.

@GoState...You are seriously misinformed if you don't think the quality of bats don't matter. We swing wood all summer (23oz.). I made no mention of the weight of the bat. I was referring to the technology in the bat. I presume you would buy your student-athlete a $50 bat and send him out there? Didn't think so. If it be golf, tennis or baseball...swing something inferior to your opponent and see what happens. The rankings are irrelevant. If I'm teaching my son to try to be better than anybody in his age group we are both in trouble. We are constantly trying to get where God would have us. This is just an avenue in which we have to travel FOR DEVELOPMENT. That is all this level of baseball is. Even in the midst of that, FUN is a must. Anyone in the top 6 or 7 can beat any other team. As turntwo stated, you are horribly misinformed if you think The Gamers, Cellblock or NI had to call to get in any tournament. I watch as all these kids play with one another during and in between games. All types of uni's in some circles. The parents and the coaches are distorting the youth game. Seems to be unnecessary dislike always in the midst. I refuse to allow the devil to move me or mines. Have fun and respect the game.
