I heard that the Grip is still looking for one more player or may have just found one more ... I can't remember. That may have something to do with it.

I've noticed only 2 of 26 teams (Scorpions,Express)from that side of town in the Majors division, & 3 (ad EC Bulldogs)of 32 overall (major+AAA) w/ only 4 spots left.
There are only 6 Cobb area teams in the Forsyth Slugfest as well. However, 12 Cobb area teams chose to play in their own backyard (TC Spring Frost), so its not the weather keeping them away.
Any other thoughts? If you had to choose 1 of these 3, why not choose to play the best in the S-NIT rather than bang each other around for the most part? You have all season to do that.
I can't speak for everyone else in East Cobb but ATPP (which we are playing in) is 10 minutes away from my house. Forsyth is 45-50 minutes (which we also are playing in). Henry County has the worst traffic in ATL and is 75-90 minutes away if traffic is good. Personally, I hate playing in Henry County, mainly due to traffic on I-75 (only traffic in ATL on weekends). Having said that, I have 2 players on a school field trip that weekend so it wasn't an option for our team. 643 has players from the same schools as we do so they could be missing players as well.
For the record, there are 0 Gwinnett teams in the TC Frost which includes every Top 10 in the state + Bay Bombers except the ECB Tigers and Stixx (who were previously signed up). It is too bad because we were hoping to see the Grip team that you keep mentioning. Do you know why they aren't playing?

I've said this before, but besides the level of competition, a Gwinnett team doesn't have much reason to play in the Triple Crown tournaments. Especially if the team goal is a USSSA post season event. Triple Crown points don't help with USSSA standings.

This explains why a couple of these teams are not playing in all 3 of the huge early season tourneys. Gotta cut costs somewhere to fit Cooperstown into the budget. Best of luck! I hope the Georgia teams don't face each other until the final 4.

I bet there will be better games and tougher competition at the S-NIT with only 26 teams than the 100 at Cooperstown. Go back and look at last years 10u lineup at Cooperstown. I got to see Leon Medical play in Tampa last year while at a TB Rays game. They were an awsome team but only about 10 at Cooperstown like that all the rest were just pitchcount eaters. Believe me I would love to be able to say we won Cooperstown but I think the competition is better right here in Ga. |

I can testify that the Bandits don't have to leave Georgia to find all the competition they can handle. But its also so much fun to play teams that you don't see every day and having already been to Cooperstown with my older grandson that plays for the "Chiefs" that won it all I can emphatically state that "Cooperstown" is a great place to play baseball. |
