Yep...talked to an Easton rep the other day and the Yellow Easton coming out in late Nov/early Dec is the same bat as the "evil red bat". Just a color difference. We own the "evil red bat" and will be buying the yellow as soon as it comes out. Great bat but takes a while to break in. |

Question about the "evil red bat" as you put it and the new yellow one. What is the model of the Red bat from last year and is the new Yellow Easton the "Easton XL1" drop 10?
Thanks.

Red bat is lss4xl, it is a few years old now. The yellow bat is xl1 & comes in a -10,-8,-5
I got my son a -10 yellow bat last week. It was game ready after 3 cage session, the bat is a monster. He says better then his omen & close to red bat.. Warning the paint is already chipping on it, there is a nickel size where it has come off & a lot of flaking. It has already become a game bat only. |

Actually the Red Stealth is from 2011 (Stealth XL SPEED -10) The -10 Easton Stealth from 2012 was the Silver bat with Yellow lettering (-10 Stealth XL1). It was meant to rival the red stealth, but it does not have as much pop as the Red Stealth, but still very hot bat. Both bats are end loaded and are suggested for power hitters. Haven't heard anything about this new yellow Stealth, but none of these bats create a reality of what is to come with the BBCOR bats. |

Correction the silver 2012 Easton Stealth Power Brigade has black lettering, not yellow. I looked up the yellow one and it looks just like the one from the last two years, just a new paint job. How did you get one already? Says they don't come out until Nov. 15th? |

I know a kid who is 13 now and hit a 340' blast with a BBCOR and almost put one out on a HS field with a wood bat so far this fall. He was never lucky enough to have the hottest bat with the most pop at younger ages but now it is paying off. I can't emphasize this enough, teach them how to hit and don't rely on the bat! |

Thanks for the info. Not interested in using one but was talking with a friend about them who said that most of their team is currently using the red one and couldn't remember the model of the red one. We will stick with the Exo. Have used one for a while now and swap between that and wood when hitting.
Matter of fact I thought they were talking about banning the red bat. |

Red bat is 2010, omen the replacement for 2011. Then gray xl1 2012. We have had all of them & the red is the hottest but this yellow one is close. Omen was a good bat as well, the gray xl1 was good once broken in which took forever.
Buckner- why do you assume kids are relying on bats? I can only speak for my son but the kid can rake, so why not also give him a hot bat. Reality is he is average size and still 11 for a few months but league age 12u so this is his last year to hit some bombs for awhile so why not let him?
Play it again sports here in tampa has the bat in stock. Matter of fact in belts tournament this weekend there was a handful of other kids using one also so they are out there. Couldn't get a discount so full retail $239.99. 1st time in along time I have paid retail for a bat |

Going to get worst as temp. drops. Still would value experienced opinions on which Easton is for power hitters and 2 1/4 or 2 5/8. I know my 2 1/4 omen out hits some of our 2 5/8. Talked with one supplier they lost some credibility when they suggested a drop 5 for my son @ 12u. |

Xl series is for power hitters & s for contact at least that's what they say but if you have right weight for the kid they both work. Xl is the more end loaded if the 2. I will probably pick up xl1 -8 also just right now probably still too heavy for my son. |

Gents, just one suggestion...It is not the bat but the user!!
We have used all the Easton products for the last 2 years and they have not changed except the paint. Quit trying to find the Next best bat to give your kid an advantage and teach him to square up the ball and drive it. Just a friendly suggestion.
Also If your son is playing 12U at this time he should be Swinging a -8 and possibly a -5 by the end of it. Remeber -3 BBCOR is coming fast for these boys. My son has been swining a -8 for a while and is starting to swing his -5 every now and then. He is 5'2" 117 pounds and just turned 12. I see a lot of 12U players still swinging -10 which is rediculous at 12 unless they are really small. |

Cali, Well welcome back. Enjoy your posts. Our team has all the new Eastons senior and youth bats. My son prefers the -8 two piece comp. Still like the 2011 omen 2 1/4 and believe it still has as much pop as the new ones IMO. My son is a contact hitter. Where is the big year end tourney for most Cal. teams at 12u? Happy Thanksgiving. |

Thanks Spliter good to be back. I really enjoy this site better than all the others because you actually talk about baseball and it is filtered. Well most of the West Coast teams are going to go to different places to qualify for NYBC. I have heard a lot different story's but here is the facts. TBS will be in Calif for the 10 & 12U divisions. TBS is now doing business with USSSA. Which allows them to use some of the best fields available. Everything will be announced tomorrow TUE 11/20 I been told. We shall see.
New teams on the West Coast. Placentia Mustangs are Nomads Elite,United and IE Elite all put together into one. They are LEGIT! Then there is Diamond Stingrays (formerly Oakley) which cleaned house and cleared out some of the bad parents off the team. Then there is BPA Demarini Elite (Formally Team Rawlings) They have added 4 new players to their roster. One played 12U for the SD Show. Another had played for Oakley,IE Elite and played up last year. The last one is special MY KID...LOL Then you have a team out of Vegas that is well financed!! Rebels Elite they are legit. One of the Dads owns the South Point Hotel and Casino..He makes Mike from Team MVP look like he is on Welfare assistance.LOL There are about 5 or 6 teams out here that can beat each other at any given time. Nobody is going to run away with it this year from the West.
The other top teams are SC Mayhem,SY Titans,Lamorinda,Phenom,Sanlot Allstar(AZ) and SD Show (mostly SD Stars kids)
This weekend there is a BIG Super NIT in calif so it should shake out the Pretenders early.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving and Be safe.

The only bat that matters is the one they hit with. old bat hits 3 singles and 3 doubles first 6 at bats...
Goes to next greatest bat- goes 1 for 6 with a 200Ft hr... Its mental.....

If you are in the Canton area, we have just received the Easton line of bats in sizes from 28-31". You can come demo them before deciding what works for your players. We will get the Combats, Worths, Demarini's, Lousiville Sluggers, etc.. in next week or so. I agree as well on what is the hottest bat out there. Better bats help as in all sporting goods equipment, but the user is always the determining factor on success.

Difference in good bat an great bat 25ft. Much more significant is what kind of ball is being hit. |
